Added Sleepy Hollow today

Thanks for asking, we are doing okay. We all have are good and bad days,my children are doing really well in coping with everything that has gone on here for the last two years. Jessi are autistic daughter is excelling at the May Institue in Cape Cod. Gina has started taking college classes, and I am just starting to get my Plumbing Business back up and running and my regular job at Town of Bedford. Gina has not updated www.jimmboy since January 1st 2006. The show Extreme Makeover, we have submitted all are paper work for background check and we are waiting to hear from them. We are a finalist so hopefully we will know shortly. I can say this I really miss my son, not an hour goes by that I do not see him or remember something that we did. Also we have an Organization we just started "Just Imagine Making Miracles Yours" or J.I.M.M.Y , we had two meetings so far and there will be more info Shortly about everything we will be offering and help we will need. My end of the presentation is not finished, we have all the helmets,the design was approved by the hospital, we are still deciding which way is better to put up helmets, I do have ( just received last week) a binder to show what whole room will be like so we can fund raise for the rest of it.

Added Thornwood and Rye Brook to my " Have List"

Okay here is our take or at least mine since it happened in Bedford I work for Town of Bedford Highway Dept. as well as being an Ex-Chief of Katonah FD, The Public DOES not heed our Road Closed Signs, When we put up tape they drive thru it, we had 2 seperate times at the same spot a bicyclist and a jogger both ran over a downed line and we had it taped off and Road Closed signs up.Every spot in Town that we put up barricades we would go back to check and they were either run over or moved tape was gone. We all take the time to go out and secure the area all of FD,PD and Highway the General Public thinks they are above being told what. Yes it is tragic that there Dog was Killed but why did they not have control of there dog?? Our Town has a Leash Law and the Dog should have been on one, they could be ticketed for that. I would have to say it was not because the owner would have been electrocuted as well. The bottom line is if you see a line down treat it as live,PERIOD. Parents have to take resposabilty for there children, animals and themselves, We do the best we can to warn them,in our Town alone we had 100 spots with trees and wires down, that is one town. Yes the utilites need a better response, We do know NYSEG did bring in numerous crews in from upstate NY they did work around the clock, we workrd hand in hand with them showing them where spots were that neede to be shut off etc. Bottom line is they should not shoulder all the blame .

Well the location of theyard in Bedford Hills really does not have all that much to do with NYSEG getting out faster, we do know that brought in extra crews,and trucks from upstate,what happens with Town of Bedford and NYSEG is that they are willing to work with the Town Highway Dept. we went with them, with one of there trucks, showed them the roads we wanted to get open and they went threw and killed power we as the town brought in 2 tree companies and the town staff and equipment. We always offer up the help to them on the other hand Con ED is not around the action we got out of Con Ed was after the Police Chief called the County and Spoke to Comm. Sutton he was able to get Con Ed with 1 Crew,to meet us and he went around and killed the power so we could clear road, the guy from Con Ed said they had extra men in but they had no extra trucks to work.As well NYSEG will cut trees off wires as well as bring in tree crews Con Ed will not clear trees so they have to wait for there tree contractor. There is a lot of room for improvement. As well other towns will do the same thing as we did it is the utilites that need to step it up.

Well it is hard to believe that 1 Year ago Today we brought Jimmy Home from California. What a Cold Morning that was as we all prepared for a Blizzard. Well we are moving forward as best we can with an Angel always on our shoulder.

x2321 We Have that picture in our kitchen,had that whole article and picture laminated on wood, by a company in Florida , In The News, that in mine and Gina's opinion says it all,as Seth says it did give us extra time with him and for all of us it brought a lot of people together,and it is keeping us together, as Just Imagine Making Miracles Yours or J.I.M.M.Y is in its infancy but will be a strong group, it will heck it has to be look at the person that it is named for.

All 3 Town Of Bedford FD's have it, it is for all commercial buildings in town,tied in with alarm permits,Residentally is not as easy, after a certain amount of false alarms we were working on it but not sure how out come was, in Katonah all 3 chiefs cars have them as well as all apparatus, we also put them on each fire house,so we could get in to them if called for stand by, all 3 districts match if we our mutual aid we can access, all are are releases by county, unique for each piece. Gates we put in and they have to get permit from town so it is in there but I will find out for you, as you know I was MIA for 2 years so I have not seen the final result on paper.

Well you can have all the comments you want about the " stupid S 10"all you want. They are 5 years old, and we got them when I was Chief, they were the result of Asst. Chiefs have there personal vehicles hit at calls, and they were sued and lost in court so we in Katonah where Happy to get them and letting the District Insurance cover them for a change, yes they wheresmall but they worked. They are still plenty of Dept.s running personal vehicles as Chiefs Cars that would be Happy to have em. Ex Chief Katonah FD

THANK YOU Everyone that came out today you did an awesome job. Brewster,Croton Falls,Bedford Hills,Katonah,Goldens Bridge,Somers,Yorktown,MoheganLake. They all sent apparatus,and man power to add to the attendece,you and so many others supported us thru all this time and still do. We Thank You, the tapping went well, News 12 was here as well and are showing it tonight. We have some other work to do and we will be sending it off by end of week.

Hi Everyone If any one wants to bring aparatus bring it. Also if anyone has anything they want to say, about the community how this story effected anyone personally, about our community, about the brotherhood of the firemen etc. we will have 2 or 3 cameras going aswell. Turkey Night at Bedford Village Fire Department (scan down for directions) Monday, November 21, 2005 7:00 pm until there are no turkeys left to win Thank you Bedford Village for Love and Support - the Arena's All proceeds this year will be towards Just Imagine Making Miracles Yours Foundation J.I.M.M.Y.'s Foundation This foundation will be in memory of Jimboy Arena. The fundraising efforts will continue to go to help children with a life threatening illness and that child's immediate family, as was done to help the Arena family. A way to continue the good work of others and to maintain the lesson's of life taught to us through Jimboy's struggle. This organization will also provide an outreach piece to help support and educate the community at large, various organizations within the community and individuals. What is Turkey Night? Jim and I have attended and supported turkey night for many years. It is a fun night together with friends. Basically, there are many prizes to be won, along with turkey's for Thanksgiving Dinner. There is a big wheel with numbers. You purchase paddles with numbers on them to take a chance on prizes. If your number comes up on the wheel, you win the prize. In Katonah, you need to be 21 years old, with a minimum of 1 year in Dept. insurance says 21, and the district says it also, after being a chief, 21 is fine for us it works well, you need training and time in before you can drive. No CDL required, and by the way state law says you can get a CDL at 18 but you can not drive out of state till 21, I can say though that as far as I am consirned you should have to get a CDL, it sure would not hurt driving a rig is not like driving a car, put the lights and siren on it and that adds that much more, yes I do have a CDL but I did not when I went on the drivers list, you really do get a lot more respect and understanding of everything at least I did.
