a 2 1/2 can cause extensive damage to interiors ( without flowing water ) ..... so bad that some guys can be labeled as 2.5

I agree with the brightness of the heads up lights... during a recent, heavy black smoke - night job, with no visible light, my eyes were drawn to those dam green lights... what a pain... been thinking of putting electrical tape over the green lights, leaving just the yellow and red exposed..

Chief Andy is every were !!!! turn your back at any major job, and he is there, camera on shoulder.... he's my hero !!! he must have some type of time warp machine >>>

maybe it's a problem with my dept. , but........ at a recent boiler room fire i sat inside for 5 minutes for the Dewalt to get there, got it and used it for 1 minute .... dead battery.... had the other battery passed in, 30 seconds of life.... called for another battery.... instead got another saw with a new battery... 1.5 minutes of work time.... ( would of taken less time with the AC cords ) then at a MVA that night, another cordless dead on the rig I have worked in construction for over 25 years, and the AC saws are 100 % the right tool for the job.. We own and use cordless Milwaukees. In my opinion if someones' life is at risk, don't play with a toy, get the real tool !!! It takes time to connect the lines for the hurst tools, and look at what can be done with the right tool.

just stay with the old fashion AC powered sawzalls, batteries will always fail when they are needed the most... with all of the generator lights out there, run a power cord and go to town... my opinion...

It has to be their turn !!

I am not sure if it is truth or not, but I heard from a MNR source that the tankers are not always filled. As a matter of fact, the comment I got was that they were empty for the open house.... thats why they wanted the Tanker there... plus are they full in the winter ? just words from the street.

I am looking for help, we just got back our Tanker from 16 months of rebuilding, and 30 percent of the diamond plate is stained and discolored, ( lack of care by the rebuilder !!! ) We have been spending time buffing and cleaning it with some luck, but not the results we are looking for. So, if you have any cleaners or other ideas, we would love to hear from you.. Croton Tanker 10

maybe the reason for not allowing personally owned gear is for insurance.... Suppose your in an incident and the gear, ( your gear ) fails, and your badly hurt, some of these insurance companies catch wind of this, they might claim your not covered under the departments policy, as you were not wearing department issued safety gear equipment.. my opinion, question that, and maybe settle for what they give you... but basically cover your own a** plus, you volunteer your time, why foot the bill for equipment ??

Hey, I was down at Texron today, saw PC rescue outside with the paint sanded down, looked as if they were going to just rough sand and repaint... Its not often that I agree with Art, but I have a feeling our tanker with need a bit more love and care when we get her back... better go to Macco !!!

I do not think so, if you look at the driver door profile, it is not the CFD markings

we have no one to blame but our county legislatures for not approving then tech team we have tried to get started... there were close to 200 people ( ff, pd, EMS and other valuable resources) coming to the meetings and drills, willing to get this up.... but without the needed legal matters and funding, our county will go with out...
-
or just as Howie or Carmine... maybe one day they, the county, will let us drill again.... and finally get up and running
-
hey if you can pick it up try 106.3... its Westchester's channel for WPDH, really good tunes...

hey all, just wondering out loud here, of all the departments out there, would any of the teams care to have a multi FAST team drill ??? compare how we all operate, give each other new ideas for training and help one another out. In Croton, most guys know the WTC smoke house by heart and have been searching for new training sites... ( other counties, etc. ) Ossining had a great drill a couple of years back, wish we could of used the structure more, but the day was good. Yorktown had the dream condition, but our chiefs dropped that ball... So anyone have an interest to cross train ??
