  1. Come up to CT where Ilive and you think its a religion up here. The biggest rivalry is Ansonia HS vs. Derby HS. Another good Matchup is Notre Dame West Haven vs. West Haven HS.
  2. Sweet looking rig! Thanks for the pics!
  3. I agree they are being very proactive. It cost $$$ but you know what if you have a master plan like the one described here, it sounds like they area well on thier way and have room to change potential problems along the way also. Hope things work out for the GFD.
  4. Same here, I thought they were going to stick with the sharp maroon shade.
  5. Our new pumper has the lever style and also has a mode button. When the truck is placed in drive it only used up to four gears, when the mode button is pushed, then the fifth gear is enabled which is only used on the highway. We usually drive in "4" or "3" depending where the call is in town. Plus its nice to be able to shift down to "2" or 1" when we need to.
  6. I'm not a big fan of using foam for structural firefighting since a lot of factors and right conditions must be idea for proper application. I've seen it used so many times incorrectly also, mainly because of lack of training and also lack of knowledge. We have Class A and Class B (more B since we have a major highway that runs through my district). So far we have had luck using our foam system on incidents required iots usage. We've trained a lot on it. The new Class A foam can sit for a long time abut Class B foam systems must have a hihg level of maintence to keep it from gumming up. If you have on board foam tanks, regardless what the manufacturer states, you should drain and flush out the tanks, using the product to make sure the system works properly every year. Now before anyone says "foam is too expensive, your wasting it", if the foam is still in its "liveable date" you should be able to reuse the product again after you check its consitency. But I don't know of any process that would let you do this. Any suggestions?
  7. A question for the board here, was this Mack C originally painted Lime green when it was ordered?
  8. AGGG!!!! No way! That stinks but you know what, see if you can help him restore the truck.
  9. SWEET! Not many Mack Cs are left.

  12. I had thought with new aluminum ladders, painting the tips of ground ladders was no longer necessary or NFPA was moving away from it. I am I misinformed?
  13. Maybe they should be asking how many guys should not be on the job. We all know a few there!

  18. Strobes used to have a hi/low setting switch on them or day and noght time operations. Not for nothing, since strobes and LED have almost the same nighttime light intensity, why don;t they put an automatic dimmer cell on top of the bar or something to cut down the candle watts???? Would make sense right?
