Only thing I know is that Royal Caribbean as some sort of blue alcoholic drink that really got me looopy (lack of a better term since I can't swear!!!) really really quick!
-
You know, I met so many of the guys and galls from Mohegan over the years that I forget their names. Great bunch!
-
Though I get one of the fellow "hillsiders" here on the forum!!!! LOL Just poking fun at ya, my company shares the hill on behind the benches down at the park. I'm making fun of not crossing the walkway up the hill, you guys are closer to the trucks, we're closer to the bathrooms. Just some good ol' poking fun. I'll make sure I'll have a George Hot ready for ya this year!

In the Naugatuck Valley (the real valley in CT), there will be a muster hosted by the CT chapter of SPAMMFA (CT Cellar Savers) and the Hotchkiss Hose Co. 1 of Derby at Indian Well State Park in Shelton. The date is correct above with what I heard, Saturday May 31st. Hotchkiss used to host the muster for a few years during the late 90s, early 2000 and stopped it for a while. Its a good time. Also over int the CT River valley Old Saybrook is hosting one also in June. As for the Engine 260 muster in Milford, it is always the 2nd weekend in September, the 1st weekend being Labor Day and the 3rd week the State Convention is held. The event weekend hasn't changed in almost 20 years.

I don't know of any jobs right now, but I'll keep an ear open for you. As for getting training, if you do not have any experience or training, the organization / department will provide the training for you. 90% of all dispatcher training is in house. You will also attend the Emergency Telecommunicator class at CSP HQ in Middletown to get you certification (good for six years ). If you are handling police calls, you also will take the COLLECT / NCIC training also at CSP HQ. Also the CT requires all dispatch centers that handle EMS to take an EMD course to be certified. I worked at C-Med Haven from 2000-04, then CSP from 2004-06, then back to C-MED fulltime for a few months b4 my present career. I still work PT at CMED New Haven and if you have any questions, give me a PM.

One of the best Musters is the Milford Engine 260 (explorer post) Muster that is the second weekend in September. A lot of departments from around CT and a few from NY (those Mohegan guys are still afraid to come over to my side for the hill, you know who you are!! lol) put up teams and have friendly competitions, several antique trucks do drafting contest, arena pumping, midnight alarms, ect. If I'm not mistaking Stratford's Local won the tug of war either last year or the year before. Plus a lot of vendors show up (kudos to Ralph Calloway ex-Nashua FD LT who owns "Shamrock FIRE-works" the original "Fire Na Tine" who's a regular vendor). Just a great time to catch up, relax, BS and just have fun.

I believe its Old Saybrooks.

I had some trouble today with a DNS error after logging in, but since I'm at work it might have been the access here. Anyone else have problems today?
-
A full NFPA compliment I believe. I'll ask Skip since he's on the job up there. One thing I like about Boston truck companies, the first truck on scene sets up and raises the aerial ladder so that its ready to be used.
-
Gotta love the way Boston is aggressive with their ladders! Both aerials and ground ladders. Stick it were you can!

I just checked all the tickets history and there wasn't one from you, of course not say that you did not send one in. Just seems weird. Moving this thread over to the "Help using this site" thread.

A little help for those who confuse the Mack C and CFs. The C models have a rounded front to the cab where the CF are flat nose and have a distinct either aluminum (1970-91) or painted (late 1960s) "grill" (for lack of a better term) to the front of the cab.
-
Lets keep the thread on topic please and not make this a #@$% match. It's no secret that Yonkers FD has the best negotiated contract on the east coast and leave it at that. I'm just making a statement before this goes really south. Good luck to all of those who apply.

The problem lies with when the term was used by FETN, before or after NFFF started using it. Plus in the FF/EMS.PD world this could cause confusion with people thinking both firms are related.

Happy B-Day Nate!

Date: 4/15/08 Time: Approx 00:15 (delayed report) Location: 21 Martin Terrace Frequency: 156.1875 Units Operating: E-5, E-3, T-7, S-9, C-21, C-22, C-24, FM-1, ARMS ambulance Description Of Incident: Dispatched as a working barn fire at the above address, first unit on scene reporting fully involved structure. FM-1 ordering E-3 (first in) to "take the hydrant in front of the house big". Writer: IzzyEng4

Not standing up for the guy for going in without a mask, but did you all realize that this is the back of the house where the shots are being taken from? You can tell by watching either the first or second films. More than likely (I hope) the lines came in from the front of the house, as later on in the second film you see units out front. As for going in alone, you should work in twos regardless if people went in from the front.

Well working where I do and having been involved in the fire at one of our high-rises, our high-rise carts basically do the same thing. We arrive on scene, load the portable cart up, key the elevator, and take the cart up to the staging area, then go to work on the fire floor after setting up. For an initial attack I don't think this would be good at first too much time to set up for the initial attack. However I do like the concept because additional companies coming in (either your own or mutual aid) can use this to keep bringing up the needed supplies, equipment and hose to the staging levels quicker and leaving the elevators for transporting firefighters up to the staging area. The concept is great and should be considered for use during a long duration, not initial attack.

To everyone, Make sure you clear all your history and cache (check offline also) so that you don't have a "memory file" just as a precaution. I had to do it on my end.
