Wilton EMS uses SouthWest C-MED MED 6 for dispatch / coordination channel. I beleive this was done since there is a combined ALS intercept service for Wilton and Weston. The FCC licence is owned by Southwest C-CMED who controls and assigns what channels are used by the regional ambulances, kinda like a sudo-county system. At the time the license was issued, SouthWest was located at Norwalk Hospital. As of about 2000 the dispatch facility (if I rememeber correctly) is located at Bridgeport Hospital now. As for dispatching I beleive Wilton PD still dispatches Wilton EMS and the medic. I have some connections still at SouthWest C-MED and I'll try to get better information for you.

This season for the Mets really means one thing for me, Willie wasn't the problem it was the team members. But as often the case, the manager is blamed first for the way the team was playing. Though I'm a Yanks fan (and liek to start stuff with the Queenies )I give credit where credit is due. Once again the choked and couldn;t pull it off. They have a great group of players and once again they were not playing together as a team. Just like my Bombers, the mesh is not there. Time for a restructuring in my opinion.

I was going to say the same thing. I rather have an extra fire truck on scene with me to help protect our operations, especially if the Staties want to try an open a lane up and get some traffic flowing again.

Moron.............. get rid of the GPS and learn how to read a map!

Why does everyone worry about whether the aerial should have been placed there or not??? Yes ground ladders work fine in this situation, the attack pumper was up in the driveway with an established source pumper feeding it. Has anyone ever though maybe, just maybe it might have been placed there for the ground ladders and addition equipment such as saws, fans, salvage covers, ect. are on that type of apparatus? Also the fact that the ladder is the second out unit from WFD HQ staffed with career firefighters following the engine? 2 in 2 out rule come to mind to with staffing? Easy access to all the equipment and a short distance to carry it to the structure? By the pictures and the news article I read, WFD did a great job stopping the fire and preventing it from being a lot worse. Time to start thinking out of the box before making comments.

Hmmmmmm, Sounds like the Yanks did a Boston snub on him!!!! LOL I would have been ticked off if he was in attendance. He was a good player (on or off the juice), not a great Yankee.
-
Damn just imagine if he puked on him what would have happened!!! Unreal.

I've been following this since the news broke out months back. I see the problem as the "social" members were running the firehouse and not the active members. That is what seems to be the problem here. At no time should social members be running a fire company and dictating its operations. Also shame on those "former" active members who felt the social aspect was more important than firefighting(if there were). What were they thinking????? The organization was chartered and incorporated as a firefighting unit and they broke it, they were not chartered a social club! Don't get me wrong, there is a time and place for socialization but if your duty is to protect and serve the public, that comes first. I wonder how that company's administrative structure was. Were the social members being given a vote??? That shouldn't happen, they can voice their concerns at a meeting but social members should not have a vote as they are not the heart and soul of a volunteer firefighting unit. I think all of us agree this was something that might have had the best of intentions years ago but a bunch of bad apples took it way to far and made a total mockery of the fire company. I'm glad that those who had left are forming a new fire company and I hope they don't do anything in spite but focus on protecting the area in which they serve.

Have you ever seen how much regular DJs get paid???? No wonder why he stayed!! Seriously though, that was stupid of him.

Sounds like a good idea. At night, the dispatch hits our overhead with the in house PA. The tone is a paging "bing" which is not too bad but still startles you if you don;t adjust the speaker volume and we don't have activated house-lights. This system seems interesting and I would like to check it out.

If they were to bring back every Yankee that ever played then the festivities would have lasted on forever. Though Donny Baseball and Gentleman Joe T should have been there. I highly doubt since they are both working for the Dogers and who were also played yesterday, that they would have made it in time since they were playing against the Giants and even allowed to go by the Dodgers organization. Same thing with Lou P. being with the Cubs, he wouldn't have been able to go. People forget that they also have a job to do and can't be everywhere were we expect them to be. What was nice was to see Thurman's son, Bobby's family, Mick's son and so forth representing those great men who played there. Seeing Bernie there for the first time since he left the game was a great thing, the loudest ovation that night. You can argue and moan about the old stadium had nothing wrong with it but you know what, 85 years in a building built in 1922/23, rebuilt in 1976 had to go. Remeber the falling peice of steel from the new section a few years back only about 30 minutes after the building emptied after the game? Let alone the upkeep needed to keep the stadium in decent shape? Look at the problems faceing Fenway (which is a great place to see a baseball game in its own right), do you think its right to keep spending money on an outdated building? In the long run, the new building will be more cost effective to operate. Buildings come down all the time when they have outlive thier usefulness, memories of them will live on. If you are a true Yankees fan, such as I am since my grandfather took me to my first ball game there in 1978, you'll look past the $10 beers, $4 hotdogs and all the other junk. True Yankees fans always will find away to see game and deal with the associated cost. If you can't look past it, time for you to switch your allegences cause your not a true fan of the team or of baseball. Oh BTW, the name of the stadium will always be YANKEE STADIUM and never be renamed. Why???? Because us fans would never allow such a thing!!!!! Sorry for my rant but I'm pationate about my favorite team and the game of baseball. ......................Now onto hockey season.... (lol)

Just like Babe hit the first home run in Yankee Stadium in 1923, I wonder who will hit the first home run in the New Stadium??? "The house that Jeter Built"?, "The House that A-Rod built"?, "The house that Giambi built"?, The house Damon Built"? I wonder????? I got to see the old house two weeks ago, though I'll miss it I agree with what Yogi said ".......it's in here."

I'm not following what you mean by the question. Are you asking about going through the intersection with a red stop light and how to transverse through a multiple lane roadway at this intersection????

Sounds like a bad version of CaddyShack. Lightning is a bad thing. Look at what happend fairly recently at Hammonassett Beach in Madison, CT. Enough said, go for cover and out of the weather.

As a career man and also a volunteer it is the driver responsibility - period. When I report to my shift at work, I have to not only check the rig I drive but also other rigs that we may use during the day from our station on top of checking my gear, station duties and inspections. Also every week, we have a weekly check scheduled for our rigs on certain days during the week. The daily checks are a quick once over and the weekly through one. At my volunteer company we have a chief driver who performs the overall maintenance of the truck and the weekly checks. The drivers at my vollie company and also the members riding do quick look-over before they leave the station, it takes less than a minute to make sure everything is secured, doors shut, ect. I'm sorry by saying every driver doesn't check their rig before they drive off is like a person not checking to make sure their POV is drivable before leaving their home. If apparatus drivers are not doing that and something happens while they are going to a call, then they are ultimately responsible to the vehicle safe operation. A court of law would eat you up if you tried to defend your last sentence of your statement. If an accident is cause by a piece of equipment falling off you rig, YOU THE DRIVER ARE RESPONSIBLE.

Just got it from iTUNES and I am more than Happy to see Metallica got their baseballs back!! Definitely sounds a little like the sound they had for Mater of Puppets, ...And Justice For All and the Black Album. I've been a Metallica fan since Ride the Lightning and cried when Cliff died. And Rye, what is this "St. Anger" album you are talking of, I don't believe that it exists!!! LOL
