  2. Izzy your close but SUTPHEN did not want MACK to put there badge [name] on there product. My cousin works for HUCK [Rivits] that are all over the tower ladders and is at the SUTPHEN plant all the time.
  3. OK john did you just wake up from a deep sleep or did you finally clean out your attic and find that hidden box of great photos. Good to see you posting and letting some of us old farts I mean veteran firefighters remember " the good old days" and show this kids the way it was.

  7. OK I allways thougth the red ford mid 1950s was rescue 4, was that a line truck? [ parked in HQ about the same time 1960s ] anybody with grey hair or no hair remember?
  8. Up untill the early 70s the post office in PORT CHESTER was the post office for PORT CHESTER,RYE TOWN [bEFORE RYE BROOK ] and EAST PORT CHESTER CONN. , so they crossed state lines also. [post office that is!]

  11. A lot of these cases a going to be the norm in the northeast this winter. A buddy that works on oil burners said he is doing less serviceing and cleanings because of saveing money for the oil bill.

  16. The mack c model [yellow] orignally red was a yonkers rig. the mack cf [red] did come from pelham, they got it from F.D.N.Y. for a $1 and used it till a new one came in then it was sent to the training center.

  20. Yes I do. spoke to rep from new england fire last week at our hq, he was working on ladder 31. he had the same request of the ''36'' delivered in 1936.

  22. After looking at the photos , what you have is a "JUNIOR 400 SERIES" . It was made until 1938 with the lycoming inline 8 purchased by Amercan LA France for its smaller pumpers.
