You can not get up to speed to throw the chains under the tires in a unplowed or heavy snow. On Spots work good in light snow or ice

If it was a domestic I don't think she whould have called the F.D.# Sorry 911 works so good ,what was I thinking . If I need e.m.s or the police I will dial 911, but if I need the F.D. I call the seven digt # and get the FD and not a police car to check and advise !

I nominate Croton Falls for preserving our history with the restoration of the Ward LaFrance.

After a 3 year wait the contract was signed today for a new Pierce Arrow XT PUC 1500 GPM / 750 GAL / 30 GAL Foam Engine to replace a well worn 1988 Gruman Firecat. The way Engine 58 operates the PUC is a perfect fit. It will have two trash lines in the front urbin bumper and a rear attack line off the hose bed. The crosslays are at 43in off the ground and a first for the PUC will be mounted in 3/4 side out trays to aid in repacking. It has a remote deck gun and foam to the trash lines { front bumper] deck gun, crosslays and rear attack line. Roll up doors [ unpainted] all the way around and a soild red paint job. I want to thank my truck com. for a fine job and a lot of hard work over the last few years. This will be he first PUC in lower Hudson valley and Westchester county.

If the person called on a fire emergency line at least a fire responce will show up. In 911 you don't know what you got with a limited info call and only get the P.D. The story never said how long it took for the F.D. to get there, but after that time it really dosen't matter.
-
A spare would be nice, but the powers to be will not go for it and all the firehouses are full. It could be used until a major brake down and then get rid of it, will see.

The rigs that are on Hoiwe's web site are only the ones that firefighter's like your self were nice enough to pull out for a photo, it is not complete. He is a great guy and works very hard on updating that site. The rigs you talk about are very rare and some of the best rigs that were made by Maxim.
-
Do you mean in the 60's and 70's, Maxim's without door's? If not they made 100's of them. Any rig made in 70's without door's is rare.
