  2. Patrol 4 [1948 Ward LaFrance] Port Chester also made that trip with all Scott air packs that we could spare for that fire!
  3. What was the Ford Vanett [bread truck] that came to Port Chester on Mutual aid for the RB&W fire in 1973. I thought that was Rescue 5 at the time or was that Patrol 5 ?
  4. It was on Brick oven road, which is now Waterfront Place. The temp firehouse[sta.3 engine 61] was right where the cross road is within the parking deck building for Stop & Shop. The tin house is still around relocated to D.P.W. on Fox Island Road.

  6. Great shot, Thats a White WC-22 "Super Mustang" made from 1946 till 1956. Capt do you know year Rescue 5 was? Also thats a Approved body out of Long Island City, same as THE 1948 Mack L Rescue 1 out of FDNY.

  9. Maybe something small, but plain and simple is the rule!
  10. The new Engine 58 [2010 Pierce Puc 1500/30 Foam Pumper] was placed in service tonight @ 1700 hrs. Safe ride to all that ride her and all that need her help we have a state of the art rig to save you. The old rig[ 1988 Grumman Firecat ] served us very well but is very tired and will play a roll as a spare rig for a while. Any one wanting to stop by to check her out, you are wellcome to. I will do one more set of photos with all the gear on in the next few days. Thanks for all your comments.PCFD ENG58.

  13. I had one in my Helmet, a lot of 10-21, 10-22 and 10-23s in those days!

  15. You look very much "ALIVE" to me gray hair and all , and that's a good thing!
  16. I had a Moose cross my property last Oct 15 DEC said that it is just passing threw and can cover about 15 milies a day!
  17. Thats the reason why on the new engine 58 [PCFD] we have two front trash lines to help keep the men in front of and then to the safe side of the rig and not the sides or rear to get a hose line in operation. Stay safe brothers!

  19. I will do one more set of photos when it goes in service,as for the man power it has changed, it got worst. At one time it was 16 men then 14 then 12 ,now 10 with 2 out and one retiring in a few weeks we are down to 7, yes I said 7! Maybe thing will change, I just don't know anymore.
