  3. On spot chains have a purpose. They work well for ice and snow that is no more then 3' or when roads might be good downtown but no good up in the back country. Driving with on spots in 3" or more you can not generate enough speed to throw the chains under the tires, and if you are your fired! If you have a full set avaiable to you for the rig then USE THEM ! I would not want to go to court and have a big shot lawyer ask if we have chains for the rigs and WHY they are not on.

The Village of Port Chester has maintained a fleet of snow fighting equipment for many years now, These trucks do nothing but fight snow and ice and are all heavy duty and well taken care of by a crew of DPW workers. This 1980 Autocar is another example of longevity ! Driven now by EMTBRAVO member [Rescue40] it is the same truck that I drove back in the day!

Pull up, Check for "life safety " pull a line, hand a pretyped letter to the home owner with the Mayor's phone # on it and what they have done ,then start flowing water from the safety of the outside ! We did not do this, we are here for you but with cuts that out of our control MY LIFE is most important to me and my family. 2 IN 2 OUT IS A LIFE SAVER!

  20. When where those pictures taken ? The ambulances are 1989 or 1990 Chevy 3500 ! No way they used them for 21 years!
