When Mack was bought by Volvo they made the decision not to stay in the fire business and fazed out in 1991. The CF was done anyway as it did not comform to the standards and Volvo did not want to start all over agian for the amount of trucks that they thought they sell.

Last week Rye Ladder ex 25 ex 26 1955 Maxim/ repower tractor 350 Duplex 8v92 with 4,000 miles on it made it's last run to Brookfield scrappers in Elmsford on a 53 ft trailer. Not a pretty site to see the tiller swinging from the crane

It had a complete new tractor put on in the early 80's 83 I think and at that point it was third due to Port Chester where it saw almost all its fire duty. It was back up to Ladder 25 100ft Seagrave Tiller. In it's early years when it came into Port Chester if it went down the post road it was going to work , if it came up Pearl st past my house it was going to stand by at HQ. It was a great looking rig with it's long nose Maxim open cab witch by the way still lives on in Peabody Mass.

Rye Ladder 26 made it to Brookfield last week, sorry not good. I tryed to buy it about 7 years ago but was out bid. I was going to take it apart and use the tractor to hall my toys around and I found a buyer for the tiller to put on the back of a 1955 Mack B-85 that was correct for the year. Not pretty to see the tiller swinging from the Crane.

Sorry guys, on vacation in Myrtle Beach with 210. Last I knew the Mack was and still is in Putnam Valley. A lot of the rigs that were at the Christmas tree farm that were left outside are now in Circleville. The Millwood Mack, one of the owners favorites was placed inside the new building (see Seth's photo's).

The good old days at Vallhala New York Lets reflect on some of the good times when life was just a little bit better.

Who is that good looking tall Firefighter standing there in photo #3 He looks like a man that some day may become chief somewere ?

I have been driving a ext cab from 1994 to 2005 then a 4 door 2500 short bed and always had reg plates and they are registered to my corp .

I don't think that commercial vehicles are allowed in the Hudson river ?
