They had Harrison Engine 13 at the show but i believe the show was not as good as last year nothing new and there were a lot of venders selling the same things (Airpacks, Bailout supplies, boots, radios, and vest) were main things going I thing it was just to tight this year because they got denied for parking on the roadway for the trucks.
-
haha this reminds me when some of the Westchester FF went to Vestal NY for the Floods and ending up eating at Hooters. lol

yes we did recvieve a grant for the van and the supplies for it when we set up our MCI drill in MAY 2007
-
As for Cortlandt VAC we have a Unit 8805 set just for fire rehab and MCI if needed, We have the van stock with the basic stuff 3 coolers of water, Coffee posts X2 some small snacks Gatorade mix for one of the jugs, two water jugs, a mister fan, rehab chairs working on the arm cooler chairs, lots of towels, ice packs, B/P cuffs make sure you have several to get firefighters check and ready to go back if needed, Supplies regular part 800 as for the State, we have pop up tent and a camping tent that can hook up to the back of the van for heat or A/C depending on the weather and situation going on it could also be used as IC command post with the tent hooked up to the back. We have a Propane heater for the winter time, we have use the van on some fire calls, M/A calls, Standby for local events, Ice water Rescue training. Our Van is always stock and set up for any department that needs if for rehab. It also set up for any departments that has a big MCI with 25 backboards and several splints with a MCI Tarp for traige and vest. If you are intrested on setting up a REHAB class i suggest talking to Tommy Mac (ALSFirefighter) and see if he can do a rehab class for your department it helped alot and what to look for in FF for rehab and other supplies you may need. i know they are looking to place a CO2 dector for Pt Care for any angecy that is going to do rehab. We have REHAB sheets to keep record of all FF or Other personal that will come to us so we have record.

I had a post earlier on the other topic about how many boat calls this year but I went back and it was missing it had some points that there are alot of different angencys with boats in the water. but i dont have the time to re type it all.
-
I believe with the little amount of people going out there will be more call at the docks then in the middle of the water. And with the increase of police boats in the past few years the fire department is not getting called like they were 5 years ago such as the incident in montrose were the boat hit the rocks and PD boats took over the situation and the FD was never called!!! I have seen a major increase on emergency boats between Rockland County and Westchester County I know for a Fact there are Verplanck FD, Peekskill FD , Buchanan FD, Montrose FD, Montose VAFD, Croton FD, Ossining FD, Croton PD, WCPD, And I Believe Peekskill PD at time Plus the Navy Boats that are Guarding Indian Point, and across the river you have Stony Point FD, Stony Point or Rockland County PD and I believe Haverstraw FD. That is a lot of emergency boats for a little area and am pretty sure I am missing some emergency boats if you know more please add them in.

I am pretty sure that is Purple Lights are for funeral not RED (really dont see what the red light is going to give him anyway) Any one that use the Lights to get through traffic or to act importain for no reason are Abusing the Power and putting a bad name to the Police, Firefighter, and EMS that use them on a daily bases for a real reason.

HAHA The first thing I was told about Hazmat was "Dont Step in the SH*T" do you think the second ff would move to the side lol

CALL A MEDIC and let them DECIDE lol but i would lay him prone with head blocks. Leaving enought room for beathing If need to be bagged i would lay him prone extend over the back board have some hold C SPINE druring transport use BVM Upside down Would need a lot of people for that one or even use a Short board if it does not reach down to the knife and leave him prone. But it would have to be a Call it as you see it kind of thing. Last time I looked I was not a Doctor so I would Leave the knife and pad the area around it.

That is going to be really hard for JT to Dispatch a Structure fire and not be able to go and buff just make sure you keep the Communication Vehicle Keys Away from him or he will be dispatching for the scene. lol But Congrats to all Hope to hear you all soon expecilly after 12 midnight When I am still half asleep
