An excellent point, and something that can easily be confused by an inexperienced* IC as "freelancing"... The "general assumption" is that the FASTeam comes in and STANDS fast in the yard... Being proactive and actually throwing ground ladders can be seen as NOT "standing fast".... it is all about education and a close working relationship with your M/A departments... By inexperienced it can mean a young Officer, or an older, seasoned Officer who is not familiar with FAST operations. Again, they are NOT common place in MY area....yet!

I have transported no less then 3, including one past, VERY past Chief of the Mount Vernon FD with facial burns from smoking while sporting a nasal canula. Just throwing it out there - but in the case cited here, my gut reaction is it occurred elsewhere.

Any home oxgen with a burnt nasal canulas laying around!?

Well...as pointed out it appears that the "Public Safety Dispatcher' exam is for the Poughkeepsie City list and "Public Safety Dispatcher Trainee" is the Dutchess 911 list... I STRONGLY urge ALL canidates to take BOTH exams!

You had to sign up for/pay for both? - man...when I took it it was one county test....all inclusive.

It is the COUNTY list....from which DC and City 911 pull from...as far as I know...maybe someone with more inside knowledge can shed some light onto it... Yes, we have opening, and yes, they will be filled. We have been working short staffed for some time now.
