  1. Say no more. Strong work.
  2. My tactical tupperware tutle shell helmet is on order....complete with ratchet, tinted 12 inch face sheild, a strap for each of my chins, and USB port..... I will be Bravo Safe!
  3. I can not grow a mustache, so i let the brows grow free and wild....so far it's not catching on in big city fire departments....Sigh
  4. Lips = you have to leave them exposed to taste the sarcasm in posts. Gloves - have you ever tried to post with fire gloves on? I mean REALLY! LOL!
  5. Nice. What a cool house - I love it! Thats the kind of fire you love - out a couple of windows - self vented....get in there and get it...
  6. Fantastic post! Just what I was hoping for! You have to learn to read the building, the smoke, the fire...and the only way to learn that is experience. A real fire will behave and look different that the training center fires...unfortunatly, fires are fairly rare in alot of areas now...it is hard to get that real world experience. When in doubt - rely on your gut instinct! Amen my Brother!
  7. Excelent question - hopefully these guys will answer with some tips - I am outa here! Log back on in the AM with some fresh Joe!
  8. THATS what I was hoping for! THANK YOU for the input - are there any pictures?
  9. The IA alert template comes up on all psts here in the talk forum - you have to manually delete it.
  10. I am eager as well. I predict the Poughkeepsie Chruch Fire or the Millbrook Hitchcock Fire as Number 1 (leaning towards Hitchcock's)
  11. And me as well. I wear mine around my neck, and have only pulled it over me head once in the past few years...I don't usually fasten my throat/collar closure due to my speaker mic, so the hood offers me a bit of protection there... I make a habit of putting my flaps down and fastening my chinstrap when "going in"....
  12. I don't know...I guess you can say the same for fastening waist straps on SCBA....chin straps on lids....eye protection on pins.....a mask during OV.... Why do we do the things we do?
  13. For you non hood wearers - do you wear your ear flaps down?
  14. Ok...THATS the winner!~ LOLOLOLOLOL
  15. and I have pics to prove it! Ahhhooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. NFPA has gotten REDICULOUS about safety regs for a tillerman...
  17. I too would be interested in hearing from members involved in Milan... Bad timing - my Cub Scouts got the Troop K tour last week by Trooper/Past Chief Galm. I'da loved to pick his brain about this..
  18. RIP Sir. I didnt you him, but I know Barry. He has a heart of gold. Barry - If you are a member here - shoot me a PM please.
  19. Are you guys REALLY Monday Morning Quarterbacking a PROFESSIONAL, progressive, and aggressive department like the YFD? Seriously? PLEASE....give it a rest.... The next time one of you (or ME for that matter) buffs a fire to take pics - we're gonna get run right out of there because of this type of stuff. I mean who the hell wants to be nit picked by us buffs on Bravo? I've seen ALOT of fire in Yonkers from my old Empress days...ALOT. This job pictured here looks like a "nothing job"....I bet they didnt even break a sweat. Keep on keepin' on YFD!
  20. DANGER ZONE?
  21. Correct! "Portable".... Millbrook's captain was portable 1
  22. Some trivia = who remembers what JUNIOR Officers were called on the radio back in the old system?
