  1. The comments were typical crap, but the article was surprisingly not anti-cop too much...
  2. Another BS sensational article to make up for lack of sales....
  3. You guys oughta see the Gamewll system member here on Bravo; Paulbalentine has in his HOUSE...nothing short of awesome. I still maintain to this day, several years after the Gamewll system was removed from here in Poughkeepsie, that the need is still here.
  4. ****Non-contributory one-liner deleted**** My kids told Santa that Daddy needed a knife for his handlight strap and I got the Gerber River Shorty for Christmas. It is the one from TheFireStore for $25. I atteched it to the strap of my Power Plus light, right above the buckle for changing the length of the strap, with 3 zip ties. The way it is set up, it is held solidly by the zip ties, and when I pull down to deploy it - the buckle acts as a solid sto so it will not, and can not slide down. It sits at chest level and is very easy to deploy with a gloved hand..very slick set up. In regards to it coming out of the sheath accidentally...I can not seeing that happening. In the one pic you can see three ribs on the knife handle..EACH rib is a safety catch, so when it is seated, you have three "sets" of secureness... Sorry it is so dirty, but we caught a helluva J O B yesterday morning...
  5. RIP. Those poor, poor babies.
  6. Wasn't singling you out per se...just ranting about something I feel very strongly about.
  7. In MY eyes, in MY experience, a fire IS a medical emergency. Backfill the township if needed, but keep that bus at the fire. Way too many of us die of cardiac events at fires to not have an ALS unit standing by. Edit; and I realize this doesnt pertain to Westchester, as I am a Dutchess resident...but a few years back when I was a Lieutenant with another department, I had a run of fires in which I was in command or the initial Officer at. I called three second alarms, which are all pre planned in the County CAD. However, I made it a point to add an ALS ambulance for standby at the scene. FOR US. At the time, this was seen as an "odd request". This is somwthing I would do still to this day. This subject is something I could go on for days about. I feel VERY strongly about adequate EMS at fires...and not just rehab (because we ALL know my opinion of "EMS Prison"! LOL)....
  8. When i worked @ Empress in int 90's, we were sent on the working fire transmission. I HATED the guys who would walk up empty handed or not get out of the bus at all...I always took at the minumim the BLS bag or oxygen bag. I NEVER wanted to be caught with my pants down. I remember a J O B on Nepperhan near Executive, fire in a brick SFD, 10-29 - So they call us...the BLS Supervisor cancels my ALS bus and heads in alone..he goes on scene just about as the YFD is pulling a resident out in cardiac arrest. He got caught with his pants down..big time. I remember that victim well...his wrist watch on his left arm lens was brown and bubbled...yet his arm wasn't even burned. His face and head took the brunt of burns and he was not revived.
  9. Hahaha! Hahahahaha! You read my mind 'Loo! I'll be DAMNED to live anywhere that I need RAT TRAPS to stop spiders! Effffff that!
  10. Interesting...but one has to wonder if they are helping their plight....or hurting it?
  11. A SALTY Fire Captain such as you probably knows all of that off the top of your head of course....
  12. Rest In Peace. May God watch over his family and brothers in this time of need.
  13. Also curious about EMD...I know just how ineffective it can be in a small urban environment, I could not imagine how it would be resisted in a larger one. I am under the impression that 911 goes to the UCT (unified call takers?) and they then shunt it to police, fire, or EMS...although mostly the wrong agency from what i have read..
  14. Our city hall and police station took advantage of this program. Thank you cen Hud!
  15. Go to your Union!

  18. The HFD catches alot of flack locally...but make no mistake, they are a class act as shown...and good firemen. Kudos to the HFD crew...Happy Holidays Brothers. (on a side note...who WOULDN'T smile around the BEAST!?)
