Date: 12/29/2007 Time:2220 Location: Route 9 / Old Hopewell Rd Frequency: DC911 Units Operating: Hughsonville, T/Wappingers EMS (initial dispatch request 2 ambulances), Alamo, NYSP, East Fishkill EMS (standby), DCDER EMS Coordinator, Arlington EMS (32-73 on standby) Description Of Incident: Serious MVA Writer: 129k 2221; NYSP reports 10 patients, 3 cars, 1 containing 2 adults w/ triplets, request fire police to scene to shut road down 2222; 3rd ambulance dispatched 2224; T/Wappingers Ambulance 1 request 2 additional ambulances to scene, DC911 advises already have 3 on the road - Wappingers 1 request 1 addional ambulance with that info. 2225; Alamo and HFD Fire Police dispatched to scene 2230; East Fishkill Ambulance on standby 2233; DCDER County Car 71 responding to scene 2236; Arlington ambulance 32-73 on standby 2239; Per T/Wappingers 1, ambulances in process of transporting to local er's, 2 patients moderate trauma, rest minor.

It varies department to department. Some departments have special rescue teams, who train and specialize in rescue ops...other departments run a rescue truck with a crew of "jack of all trades".... much like anywhere else. I do not beleive that any of the counties career departments have members permanantly assigned to a rescue company - many rotate.

In Dutchess it is preset alarm assignments based on departmental needs.

Other departments issue man numbers but do not add the department number in front of it. Also man numbers should be higher that anything that coincides with apparatus. Until today, I assumed you were a Lieutenant.

That is a misuse of the county numbering system and can create confusion. M for member would be a better choice. My name is x as in used to be 129, my old Empress man number, K, cause I was a big buff and said K all the time..... Oddly enough, my new FD number just happens to be 129
