A stove fire, house fire, inside smoke, etc, all get the same first alarm on my job....

I go with what the caller tells me... "There's a house on fire!" gets put out as a possible house fire... "I smell smoke inside my house..." gets put out as an inside smoke odor..... "My stove is on fire!".....dispatched as a stove fire.....

These incidents will continue to become more common as bears and humans share more and more habitat. There was a large bear spotted on Main Street at Rose Street the other night in the City of Poughkeepsie. I have a question - why do some PD's assign SO many units in an intense search for a simple sighting (non-problematic bear)? What will you do if you "catch" it? Rob - you say you were looking in the WOODS for Yogi.....Bro...you know bears LIVE in the woods right? Didnt I teach you anything about critters?
