Saw the legal notice a couple of weeks back for Monroe. Is this a downsized replacement for 538, or a replacement - or addition - elsewhere in the district? Also, Fort Montgomery's new tanker should be delivered in about a month.

Six days away. Fingers crossed hoping for a good turnout.....and even better weather!

Legal notices from the past week or so: Maybrook seeking bids for another new engine. Salisbury Mills seeking approval to spend $325K on a ladder (or tower) truck and related equipment.
-
Florida seeking bids for a commercial 4x4 medium duty rescue.
-
Yes, I forgot to mention that in the original post. Vendors of firematic items or services are welcome, also.

There was a falling out of some sort between Mr. Leider and the club, and as a result, we have been ordered to vacate the warehouse within 90 days. I don't know all the gory details of what happened or why, but as they say, the show must go on. Yes, the warehouse collection has been the "big" draw for as long as he's been involved with us, but hopefully we can do well being back on our own at least for now.

No idea. The legal notices did not specify anything about make. The price point they were looking to spend was originally $940K. Downgraded to $925 the second time the notice was published. Pretty sure they were looking to stick with a 75-foot mid mount of some sort.
-
For those keeping score, Port Jervis (next town over) has a 105' Pierce rear mount stick, which will be replaced within a year with a KME 109' rear mount stick. So, not ALL of the mutual aid rigs are towers.

Greenville's current rig is a 1975 Mack, refurbed in 1988. Yes, the key issue here is replacing the nearly 40 year old truck with a new one, and dealing with people who think the only purpose of a ladder truck is rescuing people from third (or higher) story windows. That, and the issue that most every small department faces....residents fear increased taxes to pay for it. At least that's what it sounds like, based on the various other articles that have appeared in the local paper following the meetings in question.

I don't think so, although 937 is on the "out of service" listing. Not sure if it's actually out for repairs or retired and awaiting replacement. Ditto Fort Montgomery's tanker...wonder how far along that is? Shame to hear about 413. Don't get me wrong, I fully understand the reasoning behind doing the remount thing. It's just sad when it happens to a rig that otherwise appears to be in great shape and/or is well cared for, especially when there's plenty of other 'Scopes sitting in various scrapyards that could be used as donors instead. I still cringe when I think of the pic of the remnants of Bethpage's Mack "out back" at Seagrave. Oh well.... Best of luck with the new ALF. Deer Park, huh? How ironic....that was replaced with a new 95-foot Seagrave Aerialscope. Looking forward to seeing the new rig around sometime.
-
Wow....if a remount is that expensive now, I wonder what the price point is nowadays for a brand new 'Scope built from scratch. I know many of the departments that went that route did so to save a ton of money and in many cases, that was approx. the cost they were trying to avoid to begin with. In any event, I am glad to hear the Mack will apparently remain intact. Hope it goes to a collector who will continue to preserve it for many years to come.

Port Jervis' annual Inspection Parade is July 13th, according to the city's website. Middletown's is October 5, as is the Sussex County VFA convention parade.
-
Very nice. Any ETA on delivery? Port Jervis' referendum passed. They will be ordering a KME 109' rear mount ladder, with delivery expected in "approximately 300 days" according to the news story. KME was the winner out of six bids. Did not specify who the other five were, although based on a couple of details in the RFP, I suspect that a Pierce Arrow XT was a possibility. Has anyone heard yet who Tuxedo went with?
-
They definitely are in service....County dispatch made the announcement mid-afternoon today. Yes, I'm assuming it is 118 that Mechanicstown is replacing, but word through the grapevine is that there's 3-4 pieces they'd like to replace. Not necessarily all at once, though.
-
Montgomery did indeed take delivery yesterday, and both rigs were placed in service this afternoon. Is that a record? The "Legal Notice of the Week" (or so it seems lately) is for Mechanicstown, seeking bids for a new pumper.
-
Wow. I remember hearing of people who tried in the past, and were told no because he wanted the scrap value. Turned down the cash equivalent of what he'd get for the scrap, too, supposedly....seemed bent on trashing the rig no matter what. I would have loved to get the RP Mack (I know, different place, but.....) but didn't - and still don't - have the resources to do so.
-
Last I knew, the Ridgefield Park Mack had been either sold or donated to a foreign country. Deal made long before Sandy. Where it's been since...no idea. Serious question: Has anyone ever been able to successfully rescue a rig from Brookfield?
-
Legal notice in the paper says they'll be buying a KME if the referendum goes through.
-
Cool, thanks for the info.
-
Looks like Tuxedo and Greenwood Lake are the only remaining "mysteries". Don't recall when Tux's re-bid opening is, so they may not have made a decision yet. Port Jervis goes to referendum in a few weeks. Looks like they're wanting a KME (well, that was my second guess). Good luck PJFD!
-
Nice pics, thanks for sharing. Those Orange Park Quantums are pretty sharp looking.
-
Been looking forward to seeing this ever since I first heard about it. GREAT looking rig, best of luck with it! Hopefully, I will get to see it in person some day. Wonder how long it will remain a "one of a kind"?
-
Thanks for the confirmation. I just saw the legal notice on GFD's site last night regarding the referendum to sell 937 and put the money toward the purchase of said 2013 Pierce.

Firematic's (Pierce dealer) Facebook page has new construction pics for a Goshen order. It's only a bare metal cab shell so far...awaiting confirmation if it's the tanker or tower ladder. Campbell Hall seeking bids for a stainless steel mini rescue pumper on a 2014 International TerraStar chassis.
