Macs are immune to most (if not all) viruses and spyware, too. That alone is a big plus.

If you are referring to the single-axle Mack CF Aerialscope, that was made several years ago, so it probably isn't still on the site. But, Corgi is the one who makes the 1/50 scale 'Scopes. As for the March release, there is some confusion over that, as they said last week that the March release (never hinted there is going to be more than one piece for March) would be the first dealer-exclusive model of the year, and that it would be previewed in the Workshop before release. Well, that (HazMat) is what's there now, yet word through the grapevine is that the dealer who's having the exclusive is Past-Time Hobbies, out of Illinois. Highly unlikely they would be carrying an FDNY piece all by themselves, but who knows? Anyone talk to Barry at Westchester recently?
-
Code 3 Collectibles never made any such piece. That was, I believe, Corgi's doing.

The Greenville in Orange County just acquired an aerial a couple of years ago. I can't see them spending that kind of money on a second one that soon, and they surely don't need two. Stranger things have happened, though. Edit: The only thing the O.C. Greenville has on order (that I'm aware of, at least) is a fire police vehicle. I will ask around and see what I can find out.

A blizzard? On Valentine's Day? Hmmmm...... OK, so what's the over/under on local maternity wards having a sudden surge of business in late November? Seriously.....I hope we get "some" snow this winter, otherwise there'll be a drought this summer, and that would suck. So would a heavy rain that would end it all at once, like we've gotten a couple of times in recent years. Where does one draw the line?

If it ain't Phoenix, AZ, then somebody copied their specs to a "T".

On a similar note, there was a guy in this area who was suspended from his company for using the tanker to fill his own pool, under the guise of a training exercise for the two junior FF's who were with him. The catch? Took the truck out of district, and used a city hydrant to fill it, both without seeking the necessary permission......which may or may not have been granted in the first place.

This is what the new tower is replacing: [attachmentid=1875]

Pics of the nearly-finished unit (lettering in progress) were posted on Rockland's forum the other night. Very next morning, however, the "registered members only" went into effect. Things that make you go "Hmmmmmm........" Truck does look very nice. Methinks I might have to blow off the Middletown parade this year and take in Rockland's instead. Want pics of that bad boy big-time!

Got a shot from the other (sunlit) side? That'd be even better. Nice lookin' rig you've got there. Good luck with it.
-
I read elsewhere that there are (or were) height issues with the rig not fitting into the firehouse. Not sure if this was fact or rumor. Can anyone confirm?

The majority of the show is held in a separate hall elsewhere in the building. I don't buy the hockey ice reason, either. Other arenas have other events during NHL season. Of course, most of those events don't involve heavy trucks and equipment sitting on the floor for two days straight, either. Hmmmm.......

......or however that credit card slogan goes. Not so sure the same can still be said for the Code 3 Collector's Club. In addition to the new FDNY releases, Friday's news also brought the announcement of yet more cutbacks to the "benefits" of membership in the C3CC. Effective that day, the Loyalty Rewards program has been dropped (as it pertains to new orders, at least). Existing Loyalty Dollars can still be redeemed up to their expiration date, or 12/31/07, whichever comes first. There will also not be any more free Membership model. This, of course, has caused quite a stir among the collecting community. Many saw the Rewards as being the last true benefit of membership, and are now questioning why they should continue to lay out the price of renewing their membership, when they can pre-order models from a number of reputable dealers for the same Club member price. Word through the grapevine is that there will be some "Club ONLY" releases this year which not even the dealers get. I don't think that's even a big enough stumbling block. It's already been proven that there are club members who signed up just to get first crack at a new piece, only to turn around and immediately list said piece on eBay. Is it worth still being a member just to get a look at the Workshop page? Guess time will tell.

Yeah, right......like he NEEDS another camera?!??

Coliseum website has a typo. Those dates are actually Saturday and Sunday. Regardless.....does anyone know how "big" the show will be this year? Will it fill the Coliseum itself (like two years ago) or will it just be the Expo Hall and surrounding hallways like last year?
-
What's so "huge" about it? It's only a T-300. Similar size to a Freightliner FL-80 (or the newer M2) or an International 4400. A Lance 10-man cab wouldn't be much, if any, bigger. Definitely an interesting setup, though.

Just curious.....how can you call that "price gouging"? The Diamond Plate series engines were almost $200 by themselves, and the original Seagrave didn't have a fraction of the detail that Squad 61 did. Now, we've got a LADDER truck for only $50 more. Oh, and this is the introductory rate, after Jan. 3 it goes up. However, that will still put it as being less expensive than the Franklin Mint E-One tower ladder. That was a tad over $300 if memory serves correctly.

That design goes back into the early 1990's, possibly even 1989. Somewhere around there was when they redesigned it and dropped the "S" designation from the model name.

Nah, looks more like a Taurus wagon than an Escort. Definitely a custom job, albeit a somewhat strange one.

VERY nice! Any idea if there will be a wetdown or dedication next spring sometime? I'd love to get some pics of that! Good luck with it.

Not 100% positive, but I don't think that North Naples shot is by Ron Jeffers, especially considering that he lives in New Jersey. More than likely, it's Ron Arnow. Yes, there's only a handful of Quantum mid-mounts thus far. Can't wait to see Lafayette's finished. Maybe it'll run the show circuit next year? For those who don't know, Code 3 Collectibles will be releasing a model of Lafayette's Quantum rescue pumper any day now. Hopefully somewhere down the road, we'll see a miniature version of the new mid-mount to go along with it. Looks like the Pink Panther got a new paint job. It used to have the name of the fire company spelled out on the side of the tank in "big" pink letters.

Harrison's Mack was refurbed after less than 10 years.

Yeah, that is cool! The back of the house looks a LOT different, though. He's holding the promotional pic from the movie of Ralphie shooting his gun (in the last frame of the slide show), but the house, and the lot in general, don't look wide enough for the back door from the kitchen to still exist as it did then. Maybe it's just me? Oh well....it'll be on TV soon enough.

There have been 2-3 incidents where the tinted image on the Certificate had a logo that was different than the department of that particular piece, and it ended up being a sign of things to come. However, those hints were all repaints of the same model. I wonder if the "Ladder 1" mix-up could be a sign of the long awaited retooled Aerialscope that so many of us have been longing for for so long? Seeing as how that's what kind of apparatus L-1 runs. In as much as I have "enough" FDNY in my collection now, an E7/L1 pair, done "as is" and reasonably accurately, would find it's way into my home without hesitation. Surely that big of an "error" couldn't have slipped by unintentionally.......could it?
-
Yeah, right! But, it's not like they were all that "open" about anything before said "Mad Scientist" came aboard. Haven't been too many hints dropped since he left, either. If Scott ever says "Can't Say", can we nail him for gimmick infringement? LOL!!!
