  1. Yes, and the model is done up in the Anniversary scheme to reflect that. There was a pic of it (the real one, "dressed up") posted on the main Bravo site some time back.
  2. I must apologize for posting some slightly incorrect info above. Trucks which simply show up the day of the show (without pre-registration) are subject to a $5 fee. Pre-registered rigs are free. Teams are $15 in advance, $25 day of show. Sorry for any inconvenience.
  3. The pics in the workshop are copyrighted, and are only "supposed" to be seen by Club members, hence being where they are. Use caution before posting them here.
  4. For info about the show, see the thread in the "Events Discussion" forum.
  5. Thanks for the info. I was hoping it was a technical problem and not a hacking.
  6. Mmmmmm.....creamsicles!
  7. Two weeks away! For any departments who may be planning to participate, it is suggested (but not required) that you pre-register. Doing so can save a little money, as teams who show up the day of the show will be charged an additional $10 fee. Trucks for show only are still free, however. As of Thursday night's committee meeting, there are only 7 trucks and 3 teams registered. Word of mouth suggests several more are coming, but we have nothing official to go by. Members of the committee are optimistic (almost to the point of being delusional) that we're going to get slammed with walk-up business the morning of the show. I hope they're right, but it'd be nice to get an idea as to how much so. Regardless of how many trucks show, the 100-piece guarantee still stands, based on the contents of the warehouse. Fingers crossed for great weather and an equally great turnout.
  8. "AndyC3J.....your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to boldy attempt what no man has done before. Attend FIVE wetdowns in a single day! Is it possible? Can it be done? It's up to you to find out! This post will self-destruct in ten seconds". Can he do it? Can our hero perform the incredible feat? Tune in next week to find out!
  9. Click the "Photo Archive" link at the bottom of the list under the Featured Photo on the main page. Then scroll down a bit. The "Basement" link is in there.
  10. Awwww, man! I knew I should have hung around a bit longer. I'd like to have gotten a part of that photo shoot there. Or at least 192 closed up. Unfortunately, can't be in two places at once. Did any other apparatus arrive later on, or just Harrison? Oh well, maybe some other time. Beautiful rig. Good luck with it.
  11. Couple of my friends from NJ are reporting to me rumors that the wetdown for tomorrow has been cancelled. Can anyone please confirm or deny? Thanks.
  12. Thanks for the info, much appreciated!
  13. I went. Wasn't sure what to expect going in, but I thought it was a nice little show. Kicked myself for not having any money with me, but that's nothing new. Shame that it didn't live up to what they expected. The nice weather may well have been a factor, but I don't think there was much (if anything) else fire-related in the area. Maybe just family time, lawn care, etc. Who knows? Hopefully things will be better for them next year.
  14. Does anyone know if there will be T-shirts available for Sleepy Hollow's wetdown on Saturday? And, if so, what company is producing them? Just curious. Thanks in advance for any info that can be provided.
  15. Yeah, I know it's Rescue Hose's event. I was asking who's doing the shirts.....ASI (hopefully), Clemco, T-Mugs, or none of the above. If there are shirts at all, that is.
  16. A "sneak preview" of the collection in the warehouse can be found on the Upcoming Events page at http://www.ocnyfire.com
  17. Hmmmm......if I didn't know any better, I'd think that somebody was looking to arrange a photo op with a certain Mack Granite heavy rescue. Naaaaah, couldn't be! Seriously, next time I see my Jersey buddies, I'll ask them. One is from River Vale, which is the next town over from Westwood. He's bound to know someone there.
  18. Photo Night had a decent turnout of rigs, but only a fraction of what was invited. Too bad, as there were a number of things on that list that I badly wanted to shoot in a condition like that. Oh well..... Don't know if this was the start of a new trend or what, but four departments brought not only their new piece, but their antique as well. River Edge's 2006 Pierce Saber was accompanied by their 1962 Seagrave (THANK YOU God!!!!!). Montvale's 2005 Pierce Dash tower was joined by it's beautiful 1935 Seagrave, Demarest's 1977 (not new, but.....) Mack CF was joined by a 1948 Mack that was just restored. I didn't get a chance to find out where this piece came from, as their own rig was destroyed in a fire at the Mack dealership while having some work done on it several years ago, and last but not least, Moonachie's BRAND NEW (read: just delivered on Friday) KME mid-mount tower was followed by it's 1940-something GMC, which boasts stickers on the bumper which read "Still In Service". Other notables in attendance included Little Ferry's new Seagrave engine, Fort Lee's Squad 2, Wallington's Scuba unit (with boat), and four of Ridgefield Park's rigs. Maybe one or two others I'm forgetting, but that's about it. The flea market wasn't full, and neither was the auditorium, but the show was pretty decent all around. Very nice tribute to Past President Art Knobloch, who passed away last November. Job well done to all who presented their work.
  19. The Lynnfield event is actually on the 9th. More than one of our members noticed that, and hoped that anyone who might be travelling up into that area might hear of ours and stop by on their way home.....LOL! Had our latest meeting tonight. As of now, no official responses have been received, but the number of mailings is approaching 600. We are also in need of trophy sponsors. Any individual, business, or fire department who would be willing to sponsor a trophy for a small fee is welcome to do so. PM me, or call Mr. Reynolds (number in first post above) for info.
  20. The real engines used in the movie are privately owned by a collector in Minnesota, and were last known to be in the process of being restored.
  21. White Meadow Lake Fire Company in Rockaway Township, NJ (Morris County) has a nice Concorde engine. Just saw another one for Mt. Freedon (sp?) in Randolph Twp. posted on 1st Responder.
  22. That's great! I was wondering if you had managed to get hold of one, what with everything that happened lately. I remember how excited you were when they posted the prototype pics. Looks like you lucked out and got one of the "good" ones. Awful lot of complaints from other collectors about warped frame, crooked pump panel, thick paint, etc.
  23. Haven't heard anything in a while about the status of the new ALF tower ladder for Spring Valley (Rockland Co.). Did it ever arrive yet? If not, does anyone know when it might?
  24. Watch wrestling, collect model trucks, and contribute to internet message boards about same. Spend "most" weekends from spring through early fall going to wetdowns, parades and truck shows.
