The one in Circleville.....but it's owned by a different guy. Just being stored there.

First outdoor pics I've seen since it was finished. Looks good! Gonna have a wetdown?

I thought the Harrison spy shots said Engine 13, which is currently a 1985 MC model. Are they replacing 11 too?

That is one SWEET lookin' ride! Best of luck to the Gettysburg FD. Hope it performs as well as, if not better than, it looks.

KME is displaying Wood-Ridge, NJ's new heavy rescue, as per that department's website. http://www.wrfd.org

Mechanicstown and two other standby companies also took in an AFA at the Galleria while the incident was going on. Not sure what that amounted to.....was difficult to hear amidst all the other radio traffic.

I don't really mean to "hijack" the thread, but.....while on the subject of Golden's Bridge, is Engine 138 (1968/89 Mack CF) still around? Somebody told me a while back that it was gone, and the whereabouts was not known. After speaking with that particular individual on a few different occasions, I came to the conclusion that we might not be talking about the same vehicle after all. Words can't describe how badly I wish that could be the foundation on which my own collection of apparatus could be built. Sadly, I am not in a position to do much about it right now, but.....how's that saying go? "All it takes is a dollar and a dream"....something like that.

The unit featured in the video that's linked above is lettered Riverside County. Looks real nice. Says the unit will be on display at FDIC in April.

Sutphen only made a few tillers. I believe Mamaroneck's is the only one to still exist "as is" in front line service. Wouldn't bet money on that, though.
-
If Smeal does incorporate Ferrara into this deal, I think that will leave Sutphen and the Rosenbauer group as the only manufacturers who don't make a tiller. Definitely will make a nice alternative to the more expensive brands, no doubt.....assuming that these aren't too "expensive" themselves.

I think we're more likely to see another engine, or maybe one of the ladders, due to the fact that they already have molds that match (or are close) to them. Stranger things have happened, though. Five years ago, I'd never have thought they would have gone to the lengths they did to make the "unique" body on the Palm Beach Gardens engine that was announced yesterday.

What would be the difference if the apparatus was left at home, and the manpower was there in their POV's? The truck can't go fight a fire by itself. Can't say as I've ever heard of the LODD funeral that was not attended by members of NUMEROUS other agencies from the surrounding area and beyond, and all of the local ones did have standby and/or automatic response departments covering them during their brief absence from the district.

Pure, unadulterated political BS. Nothing more, nothing less. I live in this district, and have "limited" first-hand knowledge of the issues at hand. It's just as the article says.....a long-time grudge/feud/vendetta.....call it what you will.....that has escalated to the point of a commissioner using the power of his position to get back at those whom he does not like. It's just sad.

Got mine a week or so ago. Definitely one of their best efforts in recent memory, and hopefully a sign of better things to come.

My condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of Officer Morelli. May he rest in peace.

I know, I saw the Spy Shots a while back. Why didn't they just get real Alcoa rims in the first place? Cost issues?

What the heck does SPAAMFAA have to do with being a "whacker" anyway? When I hear the term "whacker", I think of younger guys. At 37, I am far and away the YOUNGEST member of our local SPAAMFAA chapter. The second youngest is 40-something. Everybody else has gray hair! LOL!

97% Ouch.

Not crazy about the wheel covers, but aside from that, it's a very nice rig. Best of luck to the Verplanck FD with their new addition to the fleet.

Tried to access EMTBravoNewJersey just now, and it seems to have vanished. Instead of a computer-oriented dialog box saying "server not found" or some such comment, I instead get directed to a Road Runner-oriented site saying THEY were unable to locate www.emtbravonewjersey.com Has anyone else experienced such issues tonight? Is the site down? New England version still works.

Hmmm.....this is really odd. I re-typed the address, using capital letters in the appropriate places, and it loaded fine....switching the URL to all lower case in the process. Guess it must have just been a glitch or something. Gotta love modern technology.

Exits 120 and 122 from 17 will both get you there. It's also "reasonable" walking distance from Mechanicstown FD, should you feel the need to do a little "buffing" while in the area.
-
It's better planning than you get in New Jersey. Two wetdowns and two parades on the same day, almost at the same time. I'm not a fan of "evening" parades, but given how many Saturdays are already spoken for, I guess you have to squeeze them in some time. The "bad" part is, if they start late, it's dark by the time they're over.

If I'm not mistaken, the Syosset Fire District (Nassau Co.) acquired their five new Pierce Dash pumpers under a 10-year lease agreement.

Ed May in Wallington, NJ does great work. Gold leafing, lettering, murals, etc. Unfortunately, he does not seem to have a presence on the web (that I know of, at least), but somebody ought to be able to dig up some contact info if needed. Just a suggestion.
