  1. T-minus two hours and counting!
  2. The Pine Island Fire District (Orange Co.) recently placed into service this 2008 KME Predator pumper. Sorry I don't have much in the way of specs and other details for it. Will try to find out such things in the coming weeks.
  3. Oops. I didn't notice them! Yeah, that was Campbell Hall's wetdown this past Sunday. I think they were contemplating running a line up there to "fight back". Or at least get a better view of the proceedings out front. They probably regretted their decision once Plattekill showed up!
  4. Forgot to mention, registrations will also be accepted upon arrival the day of the show. Does not need to be done in advance. We're hoping for a good turnout. I just hope the weather cooperates!
  5. Ouch. Well, my luck is holding......
  6. Has a step-off time been set for County yet?
  7. I NEVER said that I either agreed with, or condoned, that kind of thing. I merely stated that it does happen that way sometimes. Obviously not every new arrival comes in the same way, based on the above responses. And, for what it's worth, this past Saturday I attended the wetdown for the vehicle in question. Upon seeing the narrow, congested streets in the area surrounding where the event was held (and "assuming" the area around the firehouse isn't much better since it wasn't held there) I will agree that running code for no real reason in a situation like that was not a smart thing to do.
  8. Many new deliveries arrive that way. Just because the sirens and lights are on doesn't mean they're driving crazy. Nobody's going to jeopardize a brand new rig doing stupid things......or so I hope!
  9. Yep, it was there, looking as only it can look. I got a "few" shots of it myself, as well as almost all of the other apparatus that was there. Hopefully in the next few days, I can find some time to resize and post them. Has 13 even been officially delivered yet? I noticed there's still no hose on it. Had a great time today. Congrats to the Arena family and everyone else involved with the J.I.M.M.Y. organization. A job well done, even better considering it was a "first time" event. Hopefully there will be many more such events that are just as successful. I hope our upcoming event (6/8) is just as much a success. Hey, maybe Casey can bring her dunk tank over and have some more fun with it. (don't be alarmed....I'm harmless!.....and will be too busy doing my own thing that day, anyway) ......that is, if the town lets us have our show in the first place.
  10. Tomorrow's the day, and from what I've been hearing, the weather should be just about perfect! Here's hoping for a great turnout, and a highly successful event.
  11. Nice rig. Wonder if the re-design of the front of the cab had anything to do with the new engines, or if it was something they just decided to do on their own.
  12. Will do, just as soon as I get a little free time to re-size them. Right now, they're kinda "large"
  13. "Most" of what I've shot so far this year has been Jersey stuff, and the novelty of having the results immediately available hasn't quite sunk in yet. I hope to be adding more pics to the lineup soon enough.
  14. I always visit .com first to see the recent posts, and then if there's something that catches my interest, I go .net and log in. I type the .net addy manually, though, as clicking the Forum Portals link opens a new window.....or at least it used to. I like the new photo system, and now that I finally got my "dig" in service, I hope to be a more active participant in that area.
  15. The poster I have for the event lists the address of the field as the corner of Route 202 and Warren St.
  16. In as much as I cringed when I heard the fate of the engine, the finished product is pretty sharp looking. And yeah, that blue B Model looks HOT! Got any pics of that?
  17. I don't think so.
  18. It also spent a short time in a certain Circleville warehouse. Hmmmm......maybe that's what "somebody" traded for the Verplanck Mack C?
  19. I will be there in some capacity, along with a few other Catskill Fire Cats members.
  20. I was going to guess that it was an add-on from Mount Vernon's order that they didn't take. Looks very similar to those as well.
  21. RE: Engines 138 (GB) and 102 (Mt. Kisco).....all I can say is: How's that line go? "All it takes is a dollar and a dream". Something like that.
  22. Spoke with three Chester members last night who confirmed that 920 has not been delivered yet.
  23. It's being sold. Legal notice in the paper yesterday announcing that they're now accepting sealed bids for it. Minimum bid, $40,000.
  24. There's a 9 page thread of pics and info about the apparatus displayed at the show on firepics.net. Only costs $2 per year to join, for those who haven't already. Well worth it, in my opinion.
  25. Was not aware of that. Thanks for clarifying. I would start speculating that Engine 11 might find a new home a little bit further "upstate", but it's not old enough. Probably has a number of good years of service left in it yet.
