There's been on-again, off-again talk for several years about an ALF 900 series tiller being in the works. I do think it may finally happen next year, but as always, time will tell.

If the decorations were an option that could be added or removed at will, I may have bought this, but since they're stuck on, I passed. I got 306 when it came out, so it's not like I'm missing out altogether. Now, if only they'd make one of the new ALF aerials......(or an older aerial, for that matter).......

There's a butt-load of currently active (and recently retired) CF's that I'd love to have. But, the financial resources to acquire and maintain them are a fantasy of epic proportions.

Point Lookout-Lido's rig was a single-axle Aerialscope. Did L-C paint the rims on this rig, or did Woodstock? They used to be the same color as the rest of the truck. Looks good, anyway.....glad to see it getting a few more good years of use, instead of rotting away somewhere, or getting scrapped. Best of luck with it!

I hope I can win the lottery (or at least find a good job) before they start retiring those. Wouldn't mind having that quint......among other things.

From the looks of the pictures on the news, it appears that's exactly what happened....the bus hit the truck. Damage was to the front of the bus and the side of the cab of the truck. Maybe I'm wrong, but it certainly appeared that way. Hoping for a speedy recovery for all involved.

Always sad to see a Mack get retired, but I guess it's one of those things where you just have to suck it up and accept the inevitable. Saw a pretty sweet looking Arrow XT pumper on Pierce's New Delivery page. Is that what's replacing the Mack, or is that another company and there's something else in the works here?

50-65, glad to hear you are OK. Sounded like a pretty big deal when it first started, but before long, they were cancelling other mutual aid and turning those away that had already responded. Thankfully, the rest of the day did not live up to the hype, as far as the weather forecast had been concerned. Mostly just rain around here.

I'll split that Mega with ya, and provide the storage for the '84.....then ya can still have a "car wash" bay!
-
You are correct. The same guy who owns the C Mack now also owns the Hahn. It's been relocated to it's new home where it will be well cared for.
-
It has five bids (two of which are the same bidder), but they still haven't cleared the reserve yet. God, I HOPE I know at least one of those bidders.....and that NONE of them are even remotely affiliated with a scrap yard!

I'd heard that Bogota's Mack was scrapped. GLAD to see that's not the case (yet, at least)!
-
I e-mailed both Bruce and his buddy, as I'm sure the original poster has as well. Will see both later today. HOPEFULLY something good can be worked out! It would be a crime against humanity if this beautiful rig gets scrapped! WAAAAY too much of that crap going on lately.

This sucks. Next thing you know, Golden's Bridge 138 will be up for grabs, too. And.....I haven't won the lottery yet.

And, how does he squeeze his fat butt down all those skinny little chimneys?!? (sorry.....had the pleasure of viewing "Christmas Eve on Sesame Street" with my two little nephews the other night). As for the parade....I finally got to see it, after a three year wait. Well worth the trip. Could have been just a little warmer, but I guess ya can't have everything. At least there was hot chocolate available afterward!

"Beast" is right......that thing is HUGE!

Nice looking rig. Good luck with it!

I feel for the drivers (it's a tiller) here, too. Not to make light of the situation, but I bet the next time he has a NJ delivery, he takes 80 straight across to 287 to avoid that area. Some people have more difficulty coping with things like that than others. Hopefully he will be OK. Thoughts and prayers are with the family of the victim as well.

Same here. I might go check that out, if only I didn't have to work on Sundays. Best of luck with the new additions, and hope you get a great turnout for your event.

The Catskill Fire Cats (Catskill Chapter, SPAAMFAA) will present their 33rd Annual Muster on Saturday June 6, 2009 (with a rain date of Sunday June 7). More info will follow early next year as to location, time, special features, etc. We just want to get word of the date out early so as to hopefully avoid conflicts with other events. God knows June is famous (or is it "infamous" ) for that, as it pertains to fire-related activities. Looking forward to seeing everyone next year!

My condolences to his family, friends and colleagues. May he rest in peace.

I don't think the Quest is low-profile. Just the sloped windshield and funny look that make it appear so.
-
I actually saw accumulated snow on vehicles in my travels just now. I guess it must be a little colder in some parts of the region than others. NOT a very pleasant thought for somebody who has to drive over the Wurtsboro mountain at 5 AM!

The new units look nice, as always. Any more tillers in the works at the moment? And, if so, are they still going with ALF, or has that changed given the shaky status of ALF's business over the past year?

That doesn't look old enough to fit the description. The one in question is said to be 1983-84ish. For some reason, I keep thinking New Rochelle, but not sure if that was it or not. Did they run such a rig? We have a meeting this week. I'll try to find out more about it.
