  1. Pierce engine from Carmel, and our own "PCFD ENG58" leading his Explorer post.
  2. Two classic Maxims, one from Armonk, and one from the Volunteer division of the White Plains FD. Engine and tower ladder from West Harrison.
  3. Harrison turned out in full force, with all three Seagrave engines, and the elusive Sutphen tower ladder.
  4. As promised, I will now begin adding my own pics to the thread. I found it tiresome to try and re-size the entire 80-odd shots I took, and didn't see the need to duplicate everything that was already here anyway, so I just did a bunch of the better ones, and ones that I liked the most. Didn't have to worry about being lonely (not that I would have been, what with a large - and rapidly increasing - crowd gathered on the sidelines), but then this beautiful Seagrave turns up to join in keeping me company. Seems that Turn of River arrived just a tad bit late to get to their designated spot in the lineup, so the nice cop who was keeping traffic away from the parade allowed them to back into the closed off side street right next to me. The crew then set about putting the finishing touches on the rig while they waited for thier turn to jump in line. I was somewhat disappointed.....second time I've attended this parade (first was '02 or '03?) and once again, no home town engines. The first time, I was told they were running numerous calls, including a working incident, in addition to shuttling people back and forth from the park. Not sure what the story was this year? Oh well, at least the tiller showed.....even if it was imitating one of it's Bergen County counterparts' "bad" habits.
  5. May he rest in peace. Condolences to family, friends and colleagues.
  6. Sorry to hear of this loss. My condolences to the family, friends, and members of Mahopac Falls VFD. May he rest in peace.
  7. I'll post some tomorrow, after I get to re-size them. Only just got to view them tonight (USB cable had been temporarily "M.I.A.")
  8. Was wondering the same thing myself. Any word on a wetdown/dedication yet?
  9. Not familiar with Barker's, but I do remember Caldor and Jamesway. God, I feel old!
  10. If you are referring to the one below the antique, with the light bar right over the windshield, the cab/chassis is Simon-Duplex. Not sure about the body.
  11. There's also a White Castle in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ. Possibly a "little" closer (and maybe safer) than the Bronx or Yonkers, for those keeping track. Used to be a Red Robin in Middletown. Not sure as to the exact reason(s) for it's demise, but it was good while it lasted. Now, if only somebody would give Krispy Kreme another chance!
  12. Thanks! Thinking about taking that in, "if" the weather holds.
  13. Start time? And, is the route the same as in the past?
  14. Thanks for clarifying that. I wasn't sure how it worked for that particular parade.
  15. Great shots, as always! Wow....didn't know there was an E-One Quest in the "local" area (Ruby). Might have to go check that out sometime. Nice to see several departments not afraid to take their newer rigs out and show them off, rather than leave them home because they're not yet old enough to qualify for a trophy.
  16. Forgot about that.....quite possibly the ONLY tiller using the Seagrave Concorde chassis. The one that it replaced was sold to, I believe, Irvington. While in that neck of the woods, might as well acknowledge the handful of Pierce tillers operated by North Hudson Regional Fire & Rescue.
  17. Hastings-on-Hudson, too. Total of four in Rockland County. Three or four in Nassau. Four in Bergen. One in Orange (not counting the Leider collection, of course!), not sure about Dutchess or Putnam.
  18. Actually, the tanker only came in within the past couple of months. The KME has been around for a bit. I think they made a change with the tanker. For the longest time, the "thumbnail" pic on their website showed an International cab, all red. and it did not create a link to any "updates" as it said it was. Needless to say, that's not what they got. For what it's worth, this is the third department in the area to do such a thing with their color schemes. Howells started in 2005, then Unionville more recently (although I don't think they've done everything over......yet).
  19. Wow......did they happen to say in what part of Sullivan this was happening? When I left work (Kohl's in Wurtsboro) at 3:30, everything was fine. Now, if I'd heard this involving a time frame near the beginning of my shift, it wouldn't have surprised me in the least! On and off rain, almost monsoon-like at times, and more than a little lightning.....would have made much more sense for something like that. Unless, of course, it's just another case of "watch" and "warning" getting mixed up again.
  20. One and the same. Mr. Kroll (the lawyer in question) either owns, or is affiliated with, the day camp, and stores the rig there when it's not sitting out in front of his office in Bloomingburg. Rig is originally from Monticello, NY.
  21. Did anyone stick around long enough to catch PCFD ENG 58 and his offspring playing with their old toy before it got put away?
  22. Yep, that's what it was from. Hopefully the local "rag" follows suit either tomorrow, or one of the next few Mondays. Saw the gal who does the "Rides" section lurking about for quite some time.
  23. Oh, man.......Milford's "CONVERTING"!!! Oh, and that's a Kenworth/Pierce, not Sterling.
  24. Thank you to all who attended. We had a much better turnout than I thought we would have. Even though, for the second time in three years, the lone team that showed (this time, the Port Chester Explorer post) had to split in two and face each other to put on a show for the people in attendance. Hopefully, next year's event will be even better, on all accounts. We shall see how things go.
  25. Just got back from "Muster Central". We have a grand total of 7 trucks and 2 teams pre-registered. Good Lord, I hope that number at very least doubles.....if not triples....tomorrow morning. All you FWD fans are not gonna want to miss what Mr. Leider is bringing up tomorrow, from what I hear.
