  1. Actually, it is the "TRANSPORTATION Management Center." They actually collect and diseminate information on all forms of transportation including cars, buses and trains.
  2. Yep....caught that too up in Lake Carmel. I thought that I was back in college in Kansas !
  3. Still can't get the color right ! LOL "....and on the 8th day, God invented the fire truck....and He painted it red......with a white cap."
  4. You know what you're going to wear 3 days out ?
  5. Thanx for the reminder. It's on Comcast in Putnam on channel 188. It's "squeezed" in between channel 185, the NYS Legislature channel and channel 189, the Game Show Network. Thank God for DVR's !
  6. Maria Angela's.
  7. God bless you guys. Come home safe.....and thank you for defending my freedom.

That fire, in Brevard County, had scorched about 2,300 acres near the town of Malabar, said Orlando Dominguez of the Brevard County Fire Rescue. The wildfire is in a rural area and threatened only a few homes, he said. http://www.cnn.com/2008/US/05/12/florida.w...ires/index.html For those of you who don't know the area, this would be east of Orlando between Melbourne and Daytona.
  9. Over the last few years, we have been doing so much more with less that soon we will do everything.....with nothing !!!
  10. Saw this tried years ago in the midwest. Never worked. Admirable concept but the cop/firefighter/medic were confused as to what their priority was and never performed any of their duties well. Most places abandoned the idea.
  11. Insensitive and inappropriate comment.
  12. Guy needs to buy a new wardrobe ! How about a pair of Ernest Heminway pajamas from Key West ?
  13. "Motor Vehicle Accident, "Property Damage Automobile Accident" and Personal Injury Automobile Accident" works for me. MVA, PDAA and PIAA don't work on dispatch. Too many letters that can become confusing. And 10-50 or Signal 4 don't cut it anymore !
  14. Great job ! very obvious that alot of dedicated member hours went in to the work....and besides, red fire trucks rock !!!
  15. Ugh ! Extremly labor intensive.
  16. No problems for the last couple of days.
  17. ...and before that, Engine 4 aka Chemical 1. (Johnny Rappa would never let me forget that). Chris - try to get a shot of Engine 6' old quarters on S. 3rd Ave. between East 1st and 2nd St.
  18. ....and before that, Engine #5.
  19. Just one, I believe....the 1965 Mack.
  20. You're right Bob and Allan. When Engine 1 (remember them ?) and Truck 2 were stationed there back in the '50's, the floor was NG and the apparatus couldn't park inside. I have a vague recollection that the rigs were parked outside during the day and parked in the old bus garage at night. I don't know where the paid staff sl;ept. Some things never change.
  21. Obviously this is a marketing campgain. The price of diesel is over $ 3 p/gal, insurance is up, labor is up and don't even ask about the cost for buses. This is an attempt to capture market. But, knowing Coach's history, kick the tires, check for a valid DOT sticker on the front windshield and observe the driver and make sure you feel safe boarding the bus.
