  1. Mark, This is for anyone that will be "working" on a roadway incident.
  2. I was wondering the same thing...
  3. Lakeland Reflective (Mifflin Valley)
  4. That's well done Ed !!
  5. Dan, The easiest and least expensive way is to order the loops and have someone local install them, if you send them out (assuming it's Globe), they will need to be laundered first and then sent to their repair department which the price is about double what it costs to get them done originally, my guess if not PBI would be around $ 75.00 if they are cleaned before they go there. MES in Highland can handle that for you either way you decide. Or you know how to get in touch with me and i'll handle it for you.
  6. Not sure if everyone is aware that they stopped charging for admission and you have to obtain your passes from the exhibitors (they raised the exhibitor fees to cover). they are free 1 day passes.
  7. Redneck Golf....
  8. Front suction with a 6x 2.5" adapter and cap.
  9. Now that was not very good planning.... Pawling has always been around the early part of August and usually draws alot of FD's from Putnam and CT.
  10. Most of the time when the word "lease" is mentioned in this situation they are usually talikng about "lease purchase", which is nothing more than borrowing the money and making payments back to whomever you got the money from, in my past experiences with this the FD would put a down payment on the vehicle and the payments then would be spread over 2-10 years, usally annual payments.
  11. If the fuel is in lieu of a district owned vehicle i do not see the problem... and as far as the topic is concerned... this has been going on for years, when the November deer hunting season starts it is common to see many Chiefs vehicles traveling up rt. 22 through Dutchess County, not to mention parked for a beverage or two at a local establishment. I'm not syaing i agree with any of it, but each FD has different rules for their vehicles.
  12. i've done alot of trips to Orlando from this area and have to say that Jet Blue out of Stewart is the better choice, you get a direct flight to Orlando and probably will be on a larger jet, i believe you can only get regional jets out of White Plains, i just flew from White Plains to Charlotte on a RJ and had problems landing in the fog and had to be diverted for a few hours while the larger jets had more sophisticated landing equipment and were able to land on time... good luck...
  13. Not sure that is possible with them, i do have a solution for you though. Let me know...
  14. I Believe 63 is a Ford chassis with a reading or stahl body, skid unit and plumbing was done @ Nichols in Hyde Park, 31 is a GMC chassis and i believe it's a Ranger body...
  15. I don't believe there is a connection as to why they purchased E-One's but i will say that visiting E-One on many inspection trips for customers i meet alot of people from the Millbrook area in restaurants, hotels etc...
  16. JH Ketcham Hose Co. of Dover Plains, NY is www.doverfd.com
  17. Globe does have the "IH" trousers for the G-Xtreme available now. (Internal Harness)
  18. Talk is cheap, but at least we can talk, if you go by Shea on Sunday and roll your window down the noise you hear is coming from the BRONX....
  19. Meet the Mutts, Meet the Mess, Meet the Offseason, what's the difference, you have to be mentally prepared to be a fan of the Mets, their Golf game should be better i would think now that they have more time to work on it.................
  20. There are kits available now, but they are along way from $ 100.00, depending on what equipment FD's have now as far as Class II harnesses (Gemtor 541 or RIT Class II) you can probably buy ala carte for less than $ 100.00 minus the harness as mentioned.
  21. A couple of things had come to mind on this subject and one was answered about whether or not volunteer FD's were in fact employees and this applied to them... the other concern i have is that how this law, the way that it is written is being interpreted by many FD's in a very broad manner, i have seen devices that cover evry angle of the items that are mentioned and the other side of that is the " 35' of Escape rope and a carabiner will do", it just so happens that i also sell Fire Equipment and we are dealing with this almost half of evry day since it came out, i'm afraid that some FD's are going to buy something for everybody and not even be close to meeting the standard and what would be the point of that. On another note, a major concern has been funding, if 60 days is the date (Oct 1), then depending on the size of the dept. and how they choose to do this (right or wrong) they could be looking at some serious un-budgeted $$$. I did hear a good line from a Chief though when we discussed this. " I'll just send the invoice to Gov. Spitzer" ... ALS can you shed any light on this...
  22. I would start woorying if i were you... the Japanese faithful are failing, DiceK and Okajima are falling apart, their normal seasan would be long over, they are tired, shot, see ya..., they look like they are serving up meatballs now, should be an interesting playoffs, you know the Red Sox Nation hates the fact that the Yankees are threatening and worst case they will win the wild card...
  23. Got Rings????, My shirt is lopsided....
  24. JH Ketcham Hose in Dover did this about 4 years ago, they sold a walk-in Rescue to the City of Poughkeepsie FD and combined an engine replacement with a Rescue Pumper design, it is housed in Sta. 2, 750 water, E-One Cyclone II chassis with a Saulsbury body, crosslays, backboard storage, full height/depth compartments with rescue tools w/ pre-connected reels, cribbing storage, underbody storage, vehicle stabilization equipment, Light tower on cab roof, 1000' 5" LDH, etc..., drop by anytime someone is there or on Monday evenings and take a look. I will try to get some photos.
