Oh Lord, let me die a natural death Because I don't want to burn. I have seen so many Lord, For fresh air they did yearn. I have held the lifeless body Of a little child. Please Lord, let me die a natural death, Let me stay around a while. And while I'm praying to you Lord, There are others next to me, Provide an exit from this fate So we can all be free. But, if in the line of duty I must go this way, Let me know before I go Another I have saved. RIP Brother Davies!!

Sweet ride!!! This is their first Pierce since.....heck I can't recall. Plus this has a Roto-Ray!! That's gotta be a first!

Seth, why is this Engine marked with WCESD #8? I didn't think Georgetown, Round Rock, and Cedar Park were part of any Emergency Services District. I thought it only applied to the more rural depts. Nice looking Engine.
-
Happy Anniversary EMT Bravo!! Keep up the great work!

DFW Airport Fire Rescue was notified of the diabetic emergency, and dispatched Quint 25 to the gate. Quint 25 was parked in the fire lane waiting for the AA plane to arrive. The pilot was turning the plane to park at the gate when he hit the turn table portion of the Quint with the right wing. D'OH!!

My wife and I had to go down to Austin this past weekend for a conference. I had very little time to go fire trucking as she calls it. Here are the photos that I did manage to get. Austin Engine 13 sitting on the ramp outside Station 1 in downtown. I caught these photos as we were walking back to our hotel after eating lunch on 6th St. Engine 13 getting ready to roll on a call. Engine 13 responding Code 3 down 5th St.
-
Temple Engine 1 rolling on a call. Engine 1 responding Code 3 onto 3rd St. in downtown. The last photo I caught outside a HEB store of Bellmead Engine 3 grabbing some dinner.
-
I saw about a dozen or more ATCEMS Medics, and Squads but didn't get any photos. Here are photos from Temple's new Station 1 in downtown. Engine 1 Truck 1 Booster 1

Duane, nice job on the photos! You know, I don't think those E-One Quest will ever grow on me.
-
Seth, great job on the photos! A very nice looking truck. Is that a MDT folded down between the front seats? Also they have a laptop for the guys in the rear?
-
Nice looking rig. I'll be down there at the end of month for a conference. I'd like to get some photos, but I probably won't have any time to.

I just watched this story tonight on my local News. This story really moved me. I'm glad these guys made it out, and are alive to tell their story. Also hats off to FF Trujillo for a job well done!! If you read the article, it says that the Chief alerted Fairburn to respond to any fires in Fulton County Station 15's district. It also says that Bat. Chief 1 as soon as he heard where the fire was he asked dispatch to notify Fairburn which was about 1 minute after the initial dispatch of Fulton County's engines. It also goes on to say Engine 15 was reloctaed to Engine 7, because Engine 7 was OOS, and the reserve piece was also OOS. The article also says the Chief tried to get a reserve Engine from nearby Atlanta, or DeKalb County to replace the Fulton County Engine that was OOS. But neither of those FD had an available engine to loan them. To me it sounds like they tried to work with what they had available as far as resources are concerned.

I went out today hoping to catch some shots of some of D/FW's fire apparatus. I headed over to Flower Mound since I haven't been there in a while, and they've gotten some new Pierce Arrow XT in the last year or two. Well I got lucky because I spotted a big black cloud of smoke and went looking for it. I had trouble locating the exact location because it was a grass fire on someone's property with a long gravel road leading back to their house. However as I was driving down one of the major roads in Flower Mound Truck 504 and Air Supply 501 were running code towards me. I parked across the street in a residential neighboorhood and walked down to the end of the street. Here's what I caught. Flower Mound Truck 504 Flower Mound Air Supply 501 Here's Flower Mound Engine 503 refilling its water tank before going back in to protect the home. Mutual aid was called in from Lewisville and Grapevine. There were several brush trucks that responded and headed down the gravel road to attack the fire. I didn't get photos of any of those units as I stayed behind the police and fire line. Here are some of the Engines that responded mutual aid for manpower. Lewisville Engine 166 (Dragon Slayer) The front bumper of 166 Grapevine Engine 561 (roto-rays are starting to become a trend now in the D/FW area) 561's logo The rear of Engine 561

I was at the Bass Pro Shop in Grapevine on Saturday when this happened to roll up on a EMS call. Grapevine Quint 565 The front of Quint 565 Station 5's logo

Duane, I knew you had mentioned it. You know it's been 6 years already since you were here? I mentioned that those are two of four new rigs for Coppell. They received 3 Engines and the 1 Quint. The new Engine 123 was sitting inside the bays and is identical to 122. Engine 121 is also identical to 122, but it wasn't there. Although I do believe the Quint is their reserve piece. Since the Engines all have their company number in the grill, and the Quint has the flag. Also the Quint has placards with the number on it. As where the Engines number is permanently stuck on the rigs. They do have a Pierce Dash aerial tower that's their front-line Truck Company. The old Sutphen Quint use to be thier reserve piece.
-
After the Bat. Chief came and told me and some other people the fire was contained, I left. I headed over to Coppell to see if their new rigs were in service. Having 3 stations I knew I would have a 33% chance of getting it right. So I went to Station 3 which is located next door to Town Hall. Good call since they were all there for classroom training apparently. Here are two of the four new rigs. Coppell Engine 122 Front of E-122 Coppell Quint 121 Here are the rigs they replaced. (These photos were taken back in April 2011). The last photo I caught was of Carrolton Engine 114 doing some sort of training at the high school football stadium. That's all for now. Enjoy!!
