Although there was a post not too far back about Mack Apparatus in the county, it touched on mostly rigs that used to be in service. AS for me, a Mack Truck buff, i wanted to formulate a list of ALL the Macks that are or used to be in service in the county...AC/B/CF/MC/MR/R/RD models, etc Thank you for all your help- BedfordFire

I must agree with TFD125, the black on red scheme on 109 is pretty stunning...especially with the gold leaf and chrome

I was wondering how many of these pieces of apparatus were still in service in westchester....or used to be in service. Any information would be greatly appreciated, thanks

...now all they need is hydraulics to go bouncin round
-
They do have one truck company running ladder 43, an 100' 1987 seagrave straight stick, as well as tower ladder 14, a 1992 sutphen... The town also has two other engine companies, Mutual and Independant

Our department put our 1968 maxim s out of service in 2000. The rig was used as our source truck until it was replaced by our mack source truck. From there we put it into the firefighting museum.... there are pictures of both the maxim and mack rigs on my profile if you would like to see them...

I thought that it was actually a 1976 maxim ladder truck... but i may be wrong

Banksville also maintians a piece of antique apparatus know as engine 300 For the pictures of all the banksville apparatus go to: http://www.fdnytrucks.com/files/html/other.../Banksville.htm also for a picture of their retired fire partol unit see this site: http://www.nefirenews.org/ne/BanksvilleFirePatrol.jpg I have also been told that there is no ambulance run out of the fire department because the ems calls have been contracted to armonk fire department Their engine 159 was refurbished a few years ago and here is what it looked like before: http://www.nefirenews.org/ne/BanksvilleMackEngolder.jpg (see first link for updated photo of this rig)

I was wondering if there are any brush or foresty rigs that are still in service or that existed at one point in westchester or other counties -Im talking about trucks with offroad tires and oversized bumpers to mow down trees... http://www.chivvisent.com/

I happened to stumble across a picture of the rig...really cool looking http://www.nefirenews.org/ne/BanksvilleGMC.jpg

There is an all black fire engine on Gowans-Knight web page that looks really cool..i believe its kingsbury, ny
-
I was just curious, how many fire departments in westchester county have donated apparatus to the NYS firefighting museum in hudson, ny? If your department has donated a piece could you please the type/make of the apparatus. I know that Bedford donated their 1968 Maxim S...

My mistake, it was a rescue truck not a pumper
-
Another color i found interesting that i cant say that i've seen before is the maroon or brown of harrison fd
-
I do believe that somers also has an older Ward LaFrance pumper up there too
-
I take it thats why your "rear end" is 50 years old
-
I must say that some of the apparatus colors and paint schemes are interesting throughout some of the counties in the lower hudson valley...in westchester the highlighter or neon yellow i.e. hartsdale, yorktown heights and fairview seem to work, or the more subtle yellow of thornwood is nice. The only truly green department that i know of is verplanck up county.

Whats your opinion on the black over red paint scheme? OUr department just recently purchased a seagrave with the black over red paint scheme...the first ever in the department's history i believe...and i must say it does look pretty cool.
