vodoly liked a post in a topic by EMSLt in Eastchester FD: County mutual aid system is broken
Closest house but what was the staffing and training of that firehouse? If they only had two guys on the engine, what would be the point of arriving fast over a properly staffed unit arriving a couple of minutes later?

EMSLt liked a post in a topic by GreatPlains588 in Editorial: EMS mergers make sense
There is nothing to lose by consolidation of smaller districts.
People who fight it are ignorant and negligent.
Do you really have the best interest of the patients or tax payers if you can't respond to the majority of the calls?
You hear it over and over again, day after day, of re-toning for a driver or EMT.
Maybe there is good reason for not consolidating and people just dont know........

Why not just merge Harrison EMS and Harrison Fire? Firefighter Paramedics.

The town gives HEMS money, they have a right to look at the financials, especially one providing a critical service to the town. If you accept money from the Town, then that's how it goes. If HEMS is confident in their finances, then there shouldn't be an issue right? You understand how that looks? I'm not trying to defend anyone or their actions, just trying to look at this objectively.
That's not how it works. The town would have to issue an RFP, Empress couldn't and wouldn't just give a "quote", and they haven't given Harrison anything.
And, if anyone remembers, Empress brought ALS to the Town Of Harrison and was the ALS provider for years.
