Guys Ive lived in woodbury all my life and my dad has been a member of the Highland mills fire co. since 1981 and I remember back in 1998 when they bought lakesides old GMC front mounted pumper, yes we all thought it was a joke and alot still to this day still do think they are a joke. No they dont have the best equipment and yes every time they have a working structure fire they constantly call monroe, woodbury, lakeside and harriman (its all in there mutual aid plan). But I tell you they are the kindest group of guys around, they will welcome you into there firehouse wtih open arms and at a fire if they are called mutual aid to another town they will carry out there orders 110%. And about the showing up 30 miles away thing, the reason why that happens is the hisidic jews have the 7 digit number that if they get into an MVA or they see a fire they call that 7 digit number instead of 911 because they either dont know any better or they just feel more comfortable calling their own number and the fire dept gets dispatched and next thing they know there in the city of newburgh. No they really dont go to newburgh, but I have not seen the fire dept going to another town in a while, I mostly see that happening with hatzolah because us gentiles are not allowed to touch their people, ''only they can touch them'', is what im told. Any other questions about KJFD just ask me I live in thet next town over and will be probably able to answer them. And for the record half those trucks are gone the have wilton conn. 2 E-ONE pumpers that replaced the continental compac and E-595 and they also have a 1988 GMC 3500 mini-pumper that replaced that current brush truck that you see, I dont know what they are getting but Ill find out.

Someone told me that Monroe EMS got rid of there fly car. Is this true and if so are they replacing it with another vehicle, or just going to run the 3 rigs and the S+R vehicle.

O, so that explains the incident, let me see if i can track down some info and I too am also glad to hear the officer is O.K. Let that be a lesson to us all, TAKE IT EASY ON THOSE ROADS!

Who is this vehicle owned by? I know it is operated by empress, but who owns it, empress or YVAC?

Best statement so far! Look guys face it they are all garbage, they all suck, they all break, crack, bend, make noises, that we seem to take years to find where they are coming from. Basically what it boils down to, today espeicially is profit. It is not about quality as much as quantity. Too many politicians have there hands in these car manufactuars pockets, including the rice rocket car companies (and if you dont believe me why do you all think this bailout occured). No one cares about quality anymore its all about how flashy we can make these vehicles and how (and this is my personal absolute favorite) luxorious we can make them. One day these people will wake up and realize there mistake: listening to a @#$% politician for one. They should take a couple lessons from diesel engine manufacturers and look at how they help eachother out. Especially now with these stupid regeneration systems, which by the way is the work of, you guessed it, politicians. All im trying to say is that they all are junk so get used to it. They are not getting any better any time soon, and for the record japanese cars suck just as much, dont believe me try working on one. Bust you knuckles trying to get the bad part out of the car then pray to the good lord himself that the dealer has the part and does not have to be ordered!

Is it going to be a spare or is it going to be moved to station 2?
-
Are they getting rid of that old mack tower or are they keeping it as a second ladder truck? I hope they keep it, I like that old rig.
-
Is that old ford fire truck lettered for new hakensack F.D. owned by NKFD or is it privately owned, I've never seen that rig before. Guess you were right x635.

Can anyone tell me why I saw new hamburgs 1997 ford F-superduty utility truck (53-61) for sale on firetec.com? Does anyone know if they are replaceing it, because I know that is thier rescue truck in thier station 2. Very courious.

Does anyone here know what the sleepy hollow fire department runs as far as Engines, ladder trucks, Rescues, chiefs cars, brush trucks, Utilities, antiques and boats? I tried to find someone from sleepy hollow that I could PM, but I couldn't so I had to start a new thread. Anyways any info. will be greatly apprieciated, thanks in advance, steve.

So correct me if im wrong but this L-48 will replace E-188. Then E-188 will be moved to the other station, and E-186 will be replaced by E-188 and then E-186 will be sold. Am I right or wrong? Thanks in advance guys.

When that palisades mall was built the builder decided to build a firehouse for west nyack free of charge (wouldn't it be nice to have that kind of money) and west nyack did not want to put anything in there for fear of the heavy traffic that would be on the weekends. However they decided to use it as a big storage room (from what I could obsreve). When the woodbury commons started to get big they built us a little 2 bay fire house on there property but we declined it because they bought our first real ladder truck and they would have wanted us to keep it there.

Not much of anything because of traffic around there on weekends. The last time I peeked in the bay doors all they had was old equipment, spare hose, the antique, the van 24-patrol and Im sure they have 24-1500 the Hahn because they decided to keep it as a third pumper. Other than that everything else is at ST.1 the big house.
