  1. Yes sir.
  2. Raleigh, NC FD tiller overturns enroute to call. At this point it may have been a miscommunication between both drivers but investigation is ongoing. Quick backround on RFD. They run out of about 24 stations in both urban and suburban areas. Station 1 is downtown. Raleigh Ladder MVA
  3. In NC, Raleigh, Durham and Fayetteville are all accepting applications for PD, not sure about FD or EMS.
  4. Don't know if one of these was ever posted on here before. I drove by it today in NC but it's out of Michigan.
  5. Taken in Sanford, NC south of Raleigh. Emergency Apparatus is a small dealership located about 2 miles from U.S. 1.
  6. Confirmation? Give me a break.
  7. Thank heavens there were no waiststraps to fasten.
  8. Spent alot of time in the UK while in the USAF. Stepping out of the box, good for them. Could be real practical for London and other populated UK cities. You never know until you try.
  9. They do if he introduces himself to perspective clients as the fire chief. From the video it appears he uses his personal vehicle to conduct business but many civilians are not going to distinguish the difference between his red pick up with a light bar and a town vehicle.
  10. Pay with their job? A bit harsh I think. Like an earlier poster stated, there are dozens of scenarios that could have caused this accident. We are all human and unfortunately these things happen. All we can do is learn and move on.
  11. Still wondering why they need a Deputy Commissioner. Take that salary and use it elsewhere.
  12. True, but you would think any intelligent person going through the academy would understand that upon graduation and appointment to your department, shift work is inevitable.
  13. All that really matters in my opinion is that the Woodstock PD chief understands his sheriff duties have priority, which it seems he does. If he is still available 24/7 to his department I don't see a problem. I would imagine in the event of some type of county emergency he would switch hats and assume his leadership role for the county.
  14. Not picking on any particular posts either but I've wondered the same thing myself. There have been some working fire incident alerts that in my opinion have strecthed the common sense definition of a working fire. Yes, a fire is a fire but in the day, food on the stove was food on the stove, a dumpster was a dumpser, etc. not a "working fire". I know times have changed just my opinion.
  15. There should always be a round in the chamber when the weapon is being carried by a LEO.
  16. Misfire=Weapon does not fire
  17. Kid needs his butt kicked for sure but big mistake putting hands on. I'm afraid that may hurt the officer if anything comes out of this.
  18. My department provides funeral escorts. I have always been against it, especially now in these days of ridiculous law suits and liability issues. I know it's a nice service to provide the community but the nice days are gone. But like on On The Wheel said, this could have happened riding down the road.
  19. A member from Rye might verify but I believe one of the rigs at one of those earlier fires fell through a section of the boardwalk during operations.
  20. Chief correct me if I'm wrong but I believe DFW Airport worked that way at one time and still may. Also for any Horry County people out there to confirm, North Myrtle Beach is a public safety dept with dual roles. Like someone posted earlier, it works for some communities but it won't work everywhere. I think it would be more difficult where you have strong union representation.
