Andy was a nice guy and a great mentor to me and many others back in the late 70's. RIP Andy.

Great find. Thanks.

I agree for "certain things". I guess we can all have an opinion on what those things are, but I have to say I beleive the scenario this thread references is a bit of a stretch. But I guess thats for the court to decide.

Always liked Little River. Working man's fishing town.

Cool shots. Murrells a nice spot but it's south of Myrtle.

Angelo, Nice. I miss the old 58 back in the 70's. I tried to PM you but couldn't get through. Do you have any pics of White Plains FD's Maxim fleet from the 70's? Thanks. John

How is that "professionalism right out the door?"

Anyone know what the interior size of the Caprice vs Impala is? I've read the specs but have never sat in the new Caprice.

My department replaces our 12 front line patrol vehicles every two years and they have always been Crowns. They just ordered a mix of 2012 Chargers and Tahoes as replacements this year. From what I heard they were interested in the 2012 Caprices but they may have not been available on the state contract yet. (Not sure about that) I don't think our bosses are sold on the Chargers yet but I guess time will tell. I still like the Crown for looks, comfort and operability.

Question for one of the FDNY members or anyone who might know. Is a newly appointed battalion chief automatically assigned to a numbered batallion or could he or she be assigned to a safety battalion or other batallion chief duty that I'm not aware of? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the replies guys, much appreciated. I had no idea they assigned the new BCs throughout the city.

You got that right. Now I'm hungry.
