Sanford, NC. I was up at the shops this afternoon and caught a few photos. Sanford Fire is a career dept that run out of three houses. I'll get with some of the guys and get some good shots of the other rigs and houses when I have some time. Engine 208 and 209 are identical twins. To give you an idea about PD, we have about 90 sworn officers including 12 detectives, community police, narcotics, SEU (our ESU) and few small one or two man units. All patrol vehicles are Crowns. Next round are Chargers. All detective's drive 2011/12 Impalas. All photos taken by me on 08/16/2012. Not sure how to size photos, sorry. 208/209 ar KME/Spartan I beleive 2011's. Man I miss the late 70's WP fleet, those Maxims were awesome. I went to Stepinac in the late 70's and I remember how cool that Maxim fleet looked. I also remember our fire drills, God forbid you opened your mouth during one of those. Back then we had a senior lounge in the basement where there was this nasty couch. You could smoke down there and of course that couch went up on day. I remember Engine 70 backing up to the basement window and pulling a booster line from the rear of the rig. We got our butts handed to us that afternoon. Sorry if that was off topic.

Too funny. Sandals without socks would work just fine. Sorry.

I understand where your coming from but with all due respect, I don't find anything wrong with a guy congratulating his son or the members of his department. Congratulations to all.

Doesn't look like 54 is going anywhere soon.

Had one explode on a guy down here about six months ago. Messed his mouth and surrounding facial area up pretty good. Lost several teeth. I'm sure that law suit is already in motion.

Yes sir,and the old Panasonic tough books would hold a #1 value meal from McDonalds just fine.

This 1977 Mack CF was one of twins that were front line rigs for the City of Sanford, NC back in the day. The other one was auctioned off last year. This one is sitting up at the city garage and will be auctioned also. If anyone is interested Check GovDeals.com on or after 6/4/12. The garage foreman told me they ran numerous tests on her and she runs and pumps great. These photos were taken by me 5/17/12. Sorry I'm not sure how to chop photos.

myfitnesspal really is a great tool. Someone mentioned in an earlier post that it would be cool to keep in touch and support one another. With myfitnesspal I believe you can share your progress with others once you link your profiles.

Nice pic. Not sure a battalion chief however. I think EMS boss but I'm sure one of the city guys can confirm.

Amen. This was true in my service career that began in the early 80's. I've been with a PD now for ten years and I'm fortunate that it's not a crazy politically correct organization. However, I caution everyone to be careful and think before they speak. The good old days are over. NFD2004, I feel your pain. And for the new guys, as stated by someone earlier, never let them know what really gets to you. Once they figure that out your dead meat. It's all good.
