No. Just doing what he was trained to do.

Your right, lets not dwell. We must also support Al Toro he has much to deal with right now.

Soap opera with a little firehouse thrown in. Don't like it.

Jobs, school, and family is called having a life. Not saying you do but not everyone can hang around the firehouse waiting for the bells to ring.

"The Rest" Doctors, lawyers, accountants, mechanics, pilots, cops etc. Not everyone as the desire to be a career firefighter. Many other interesting careers out there and with better pay. Alot of good dedicated volunteers left after the "best" go career.

For sure on the job security.

I know this is an old thread but: If you find a police officer willing to give up his/her weapon(s) to include firearm, pepper spray, Taser, ASP baton, etc. let me know I'd love to read their PD's SOP's. I have been in law enforcement for years and have never entertained the thought of giving up my tools of the trade for any reason. Nor have I have ever worked with or been associated with another officer that would. Rule #1: Never surrender your weapon. If you want the officer to give up those tools why would you call for PD assistance to begin with? If something goes wrong and the officer has to defend himself or you we have a problem. Take down techniques are fine but EDPs can be quite strong. My two cents.

Lets blame the civilian caller how easy is that. Time for NMB to rethink their policies. They are a public safety dept PD/FD combined.

Messed up. I work alot of accidents and often find, especially with older drivers they are stunned and not really sure what just happened or how. Sometimes they just sit in the car and wait for EMS.

Can anyone tell me what companies are assigned to the Bronx City Island House? I was unable to locate in a couple of web sites I checked. Thanks.
-
Question for an FDNY member or anyone who might know. Are probies normally assigned to busy houses or can they end up in slow houses like City Island etc?

Thanks for the quick reply.
