very good point, but it still doesnt change the fact that this does make you stop and think, what kind of standards are we holding people up to if they can do whatever they want, with no reguard for human life or anybody else, then get aquitted? I mean really, did you watch the news? when they showed the tenants, they acted like they were the "ones who were wronged" here, crying and holding their arms up like "hallejuah", right in front of the families of the guys who went in there to try and save them, and tradgically passed away because of their carelessness, want a bunch of savages, utter Bulls***!
-
what do you expect? its the post, is, was and always will be a rag. its run by that idiot, rupurt murdoch.
-
What I want to know is how does the jury, the judge and the defending attorney(for the tenants) sleep at night? I mean really? They just let the Fallen Brothers heroic actions of that day to be disgraced, doing a job they do not have the balls to do. I am just losing faith in society, im an optomist, but come on, this just sends the wrong message...

Those tenants and that building owner should die a horrible death.....I usually don't get this hateful, but this is BULLS***!!! I really feel bad for the FDNY and those families. UnFriggin' Real...

Ok, so I just finished my EMT class last month and am waiting for my results from the state. I want to jump right into a job, get some experience, get on the streets and see where it takes me(whatever that may be, paramedic, a department, etc.) I did some research and found that really the only two private ambulance companies that see work are empress and transcare. so basically my question is which should I go for? I'm kind of partial towards empress because I'm from Yonkers and I did my ride alongs with them. What are the pros/cons of each? Also, I want to be as busy as possible. So if you could help me that would be greatly appriciated thanx.

Your best bet is to probably go to a commercial or private ambulance such as empress or transcare, if you go to fdny you'll be stuck because thats a full time career job.

Haha yeah I'm a young guy, 19 as of today, and trust me I'm going to stay in school until I get a 4year degree.
-
Yeah but that doesn't mean I don't like EMS or think down apon it. Because I do like it and I am going to give it my all. So my statement before does not "sum up the EMS system".
-
Haha it's kind of sad to say but yea. I mean I've always wanted to be a firemen since the day I was born. I do think though that for some people who feel that way about ems thats a good route.
-
I agree with goose, i don't plan on doing ems for the rest of my life.
-
I don't know. I was thinking it over today and really feel like I'm just going to go with empress and learn. I don't mind all the transports, I'll just use the opportunity to learn and make the best of it. Thanx.
-
Haha damn. what other good ems jobs are there then? How are they? Do they run a ton of transports?

****Note: My Previous post wasn't meant to offend any particular department or person(s). If I happend to, for that I apologize. I was merely trying to make a point on the topic, not to slander any particular department(s) fire suppression abilities or tactics. When I gave addresses of incidents I was stating them as examples for when intially dispatching a full assignment(mutiple department response) could have worked, and by that I am commenting on the system not anyone's judgement. I am also not saying that anyone did anything wrong at those jobs. If anyone else has any concerns feel free to contact me, Thanx****
