But he is the most popular guy in the fire house. Isn't that good enough to be Chief
-
The days of "we been doing it like this for years now" are over. Tradiation now is about safety. Rye is doing the right thing. I served on the fire wardens in my old dept. It served no purpose. Attitude was, what's best for my company, not for the Department. It moved the department backwards. Safety can not be overlooked anymore. If you can't see that, maybe you shoukd rethink about being a volunteer

Though sad the Chief had to step down. But as said on this site many times. Rules are rules. Nepotism rules have been in place across the country now for many years. They dont only pertain to Fire departments, they effect many civil service jobs. Best of luck to you Chief

I still would be the basterd child of Emergency Service. The agency that no body really wanted.

We all have to stop acting like 5th graders and act like adults who know better , To not call an agency because they don't call you is stupid, foolish, and deadly. Sooner or later you will be called out and be held responsible for by passing agencies. Boooohoooo they didn't call me. So I am not calling them waaawaaawaaa. Total stupidity

Basically it is judged by exprience, are you in a 911 system. Education and training. CHanes are if someone has a year exprience in FDNY and someone has a year experience in a volley, The FDNY person most likely get the job

Wow, I see not much of a pay raise from 28 years ago. When I started with Nationwide Ambulance starting salary was 13 an hour

The problem is that it looks like another drug, if they can't tell if it is or not how would they know what it is. I see it as the school being very proactive on this issue

I have known Lolo from our days working at the TSA. She is the kindest most warm hearted person you will ever meet. You are in our Prays Lolo. Rob Bob and Maria

No I don't know that to be fact, I am going by what members here are saying. If you know for sure an answer to theses questions please feel free to answer them. I am judgeing my response by what I have read hear. Now rereading what I said perhaps jumped the gun and for that I am sorry. But if true. There is a very serious problem

I don't understand. If Hartsdale has six members and they do not respond to emergency calls. How are they even a department. Why are they even given that money. It makes no sense. If that payment of day to day living is for the volunteers that is disgusting. Why are they even allowed in the fire house. Is this a legit combo department or are they hangout to just watch TV read the paper and drink coffee. If that's the case sign me up for that thank you pension!

It maybe very difficult to get what your requesting due to the on going lawsuit pending .

I am going to say the evil word. CONSOLIDATION, we speak of this on Fire and EMS. Why not on Police? There are so many police departments within short distance of each other, why not merge them?

Has anyone heard of anything happing in the city. Heard 59th st bridge is closed. And all cross streets from 61st to At least 85th are closed. I do not know if this is true. Just heard some people talking about it at work.

23 years ago today, marks the first attack on the World Trade Center. A van full of explosives was driven down into the lower parking garage, in an attempt to bring one tower down into the other. Thank God this did not happen. But it did kill 6 people and injure thousands. NEVER FORGET!

As a former member of SHAC. I remember when we would do on the average of about 5 mutal aid calls a week. We would jokingly say our motto was have ambulance, will travel. But I see now times have changed. I no longer live in the area for a while now. But to the person who said it was just an EDP. I hope to god your not a member or an EMT of a Amblance Corp, and God help us if you are an officer. That was the most disgusting and unprofessional thing to say.
-
I did not know that. Thought the were all LEO'S. thanks for filling me in
-
I don't think so isn't Greenberg EMS all police officers. If that's the case it would not be open to the public. You would have to be a police officer frist.
-
9/11 if I remember correctly the EAS system was never activated either
-
But yet Bravo Management would have us believe that these people resigned, if they did how did they clean house.
-
At what point would they bring the National Guard in?
-
In the grand scheme of things in the EMS world is this really that big of a deal. If it is, contact PR for the SS and ask them. This all could be the fact as to this is who we wanted. Did they step on anyomes toes, did your agency feel they were slighted, I don't understand why this is a big deal.
-
So from what I am gathering here is, since MLSS may not have a CON to operate in the area from HPN to Stone Barn, that the motorcade should contact each agency and stop the motarcade at each border and wait for that agency. What if they can't get a crew out. Sorry Mr. President we have to wait for an ambulance that won't even treat you or transport you to come. But on the good side I hear that mutual aid is really good in this county.
