I agree with freedom of speech and I am willing to fight and die for it, but I also agree with "need to know". I think this falls under need to know what do you all think. Even though the classified info was left out, did anyone really need to know this info. I am thinking more of terroist. I think the press should at times keep their mouths shut on national security issues. What do all of you think? http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/09/26/power.at.risk/index.html

Plain and simple its the second greatest comeback ever!!!!!
-
To be honest, I dont think our PD would know what to do, and thats really sad
-
Paying for it myself does not mean I didnt have my chiefs permission, just the Dept. had already blown out there training budget, and I was refunded the money by the village upon completion. He still can pay for it if the Dept does not have any money, with permisson from his chief to take it.
-
The ambulance corps' policy is to transport anyone under 18 to the hospital because minors cannot refuse medical attention on their own. According to a report prepared by the ambulance corps, Mota complained of back and neck pain but had no serious symptoms. He was alert, his breathing and pulse were listed as regular, his pupils were "normal" and his skin was "unremarkable." This is what I mean about where are some of you getting your information from, This patent was not going to the hosptial for the barbs to be removed, he was going to the hosptial for back and neck pain. As far as is a medic needed for this call. I would think maybe if the person was tazed in the neck or close to the heart maybe you need one (my knowledge of tazers is nil) but otherwise no, Keep in mind though it is SHPD procudure to call for a medic for all tazered persons
-
I wonder where some of you people are getting some of this information from, lets start here. SHPD protocol for a teaser is to call the Paramedic for evalution not BLS, which was never done(as mentioned in the article). Thats why here in Sleepy we are not trained to remove the barbs. Second of all there is no mention really in the article that the pt was going to the hosptial because of the barbs, maybe it was due to chief complant of neck and back injuries (as mentioned in article), what the article does not mention is how or why he suffered those injuries. Some things to think about. As I said in my last post many things not mentioned and many things cant be talked about. But here at SHAC we are very confident with the way we handled ourselves, and thanks for the support from all of you.
-
Keep this in mind folks of course there is alot we cant talk about, and lot that has not been mentioned in the newspapers, but I assure you after SHAC spoke to many other higher ups in the EMS sections, trust me when I say we are in the right on this one.
-
I think it will be called the cart and jump
-
A police officers primary job is to up hold the law, so if these things are infractions of the law, then I would think it would be their job.
-
Or you can wait to get your equipment back, PMH usually is very fast about getting a pt off a back board, stay and wait the few minutes extra and you wil get it back. that day. WMC is another story they use to mail equipment back to us, not sure how they do it anymore.
-
We have had a similiar discussion before, and I stand by what I said there now, Until EMS can stand as one, and many stop the me me me attiude there will never be change. I have worked union, non union, and volley, the one big connection is there is really no unity. There are many people that just want a title and dont care about any thing else. Another big issue is the revolving door issue, It is hard to maintain a good working relationship with someone when you are working with a new partner every 2 weeks.
