This is one reason why Career and Volunteers don't get along.Because of these kinds comments.Also comes to mind two career killed in texas while fighting a church fire as Volunteers in there hometown.Was denied lodd benefits from their career muncipality which was greater then their volunteer comunnity so WHO in the end suffers.

That was a Great Day of Fun

One of the best run in the area.Fun for the veteran firefigther or buff.

Put a Boss and 3 Firefigthers on ONE RIG 24/7 so they can respond in a safe and proficent manner. so atleast you have your first reponse covered.Then you work on all other avenues to get more volunteers. So then nobody is put in harms way the Public or the Firefighter.

Here in so west CT a trainer must be on location at high school events. but I do known it is great PR for your Dept

Why not put all four on one engine on each shift. And have the volunteer's cover the rest of the equipment. Then at least your running safe.

Booster Reels were great in their time, but because as firefighter's we always push the limit and things get taken away. I did see in my time a dept that used an oil truck reel and mounted 200' of 1 3/4. It did deploy very well and it was wet packed. It was mounted between the cab and pump panel it could go out either side.

I know were I work they have fazed out the gumpy suits. And switch over to the more flexable Mustang suits.Question for the day. when is best to go training for cold water ie: the fall /early winter/winter what Does your Dept prefer.
