THat is a good idea most of the pictures on my camera get deleted before they make it onto my computer, just to make room for new "better" ones.

Remember585 Brought up a good point about the exterior mounted SCBA's. We have two older apparatus with the exterior mounted SCBA's and I think that I like them better. I like the idea of packing up while on scene. I heard this during FF1, Packing up on scene gives you time to slow down and examine your surroundings and the structure look for any possible hazards that you may encounter and it also gives you time to plan out your attack. Basically putting on an SCBA should be second nature and you shouldn't have to think about it, and getting ready on scene gives you a couple of seconds to think before you act. It is also a lot easier to pack up while standing up.

Nice looking rig. Good luck with it Mutual.

that is funny lol

I think that Vacguy's question has been discussed before. A disabled vehicle on the bridge is an emergency, because of the high speed nature of traffic and possible congestion resulting from it.

Indiana Fire Department Not Told of Bodies at Crash Site JON SEIDEL Sun-Times News Group When an ambulance was called for two of the four victims of a violent car crash early Saturday, Gary Fire Department dispatchers might not have been told that a crash occurred. The fire department, therefore, was not asked to help look for the other two teenagers who were left by the side of the road for at least six hours until their relatives found them dead. Fire Chief Jeff Ward said Sunday he was told the incident was identified to dispatchers only as an "unknown injury" and that an ambulance wasn't called to the actual crash scene. "I don't know who called it in, but we're getting the tapes to find out exactly what happened," Ward said. 2 WENT FOR HELP Gary police officials did not return calls for comment Sunday. Cmdr. Samuel Roberts has said Officer Jeffery Westerfield followed proper procedure. Brandon Smith, 18, was driving a truck north on Chase Street at 3 a.m. Saturday, police said. With him were Dominique Green, Darius Moore and DeAndre Anderson, all 18. Police said Smith lost control of the truck and crashed through a metal fence into an area thick with weeds. Smith and Green were thrown from the vehicle, police said, and one of the two remaining passengers managed to crawl out of the truck to get help. Ward said Sunday that the ambulance was asked to pick up the victims at 24th Avenue and Chase Street, three blocks north of the accident scene. "They never went to the scene," Ward said, "and they were never told there were other patients." IGNORED, BOYS SAY But Brandon Smith's uncle said the boys were ignored when they told police that their friends were still at the scene of the crash. Hours later, Arthur "Bud" Smith became worried because his son Brandon Smith hadn't come home. He decided to go out and look for him. Just after 9 a.m. Saturday, Darren and Arthur Smith found the bodies of Green and Smith 10 feet from where the truck landed. The Lake County coroner's office was called to the scene. Both teenagers had suffered blunt force injuries and were pronounced dead. Copyright 2005 LexisNexis, From Firehouse.com

Oswego someone called in a structure fire to get the FD to respond? Why is that person not in jail? That is ridiculas I am really pissed about that. I think that some letters need to be written to the police chief about that

No disrespect to the fallen FF but I got the impression from the article that he stole the tanker. Did anyone else get that feeling?

They had a plan to airlift truck companies to the roof of hi-rises to do primary searches. Just one question that I had was if they were that far above the fire floor would the helo comeback and pick them up and any victims they found? How would they get out of the building. Just something I'm not clear about.

IMO we need to get more incident photos that was one of the main reasons why I joined this site. Until I got hooked on the forum now I rarely got to the .com since it seems that it isn't updated that much. Keep up the good work Seth we all appreciate it.

thanks GFD, but that is the problem there has been no official word from FDNY and it's been a long time since the test was taken. Just seeing if there is someone here in the know.

JBE I also agree with your post. I can only imagine what would happen if there were sales on 9/11 it would be same as having sales on December 7th, It would be a disgrace to all of the people who died

At my school in New Hampshire they sounded the church bells on campus when the first plane hit. And that was it there was no mention about it in any of my classes today or anywhere around campus. My room mate didn't even realize untill we watched the news at 10. I think that this is disgraceful how people seem to forget.

I have wondered that myself, good question hopefully there is someone here who can answer it.

I also heard this but it might just be rumors. If anyone has any more info. It would be greatly appreciated. I haven't gotten an official score from the last test yet, so I have no idea whats going on. Any info. would be greatly appreciated.
