In High school one of our senior year teachers who taught law and social studies always told us to refuse the tests. He said that it is easier to fight if there is no definite proof.

In my department the only requirements are FF1. I don't believe there are any universal standards in Westchester.

I saw it on here a while ago. I checked it out but it was dumb and it didn't have any info for most departments anyway. I think that it is stupid and it is opening up a lot of officers to criticism that they don't warrant.

Did all of these units operate on scene? Why wasn't a command set up immediately by ARFF, which I assume were the first on scene, and advise on the response. Just a thought. Unless this already does happen?

Any plans for the abandoned stations? They look like they used to be beautiful buildings. Why haven't they been used or sold?

Congrats Jim

Good point RWC, we definately need more scene pictures. The buying idea is not a bad idea, it will probabally get more people to take pictures.

I have the same problem that Jack is having. Also I think that there might be too much clutter especially with the ads but I know that they have to be there.

I love the end when he says I don't think we are gonna fit through the drive thru

All four firehouses in Somers have sirens on the roof. Protocol is four times for a possible fire and then again four times for a confirmed fire. No matter what kind of fire. It sounds any time of the day or night. It also sounds 1 round at noon every day. I was under the impression that NFPA required a secondary means of alerting members? Is that true?

10K? as in 10,000 dollars?

I just saw this website on CNN and I went and checked it out. I know that there are a lot of LEO on here and I was just wondering what your oppinnions are about this website. In the video on CNN they said that they were worried about the general public having access to personal information about them. I could not find any real personal information. Just curious what you guys think or if anyone has found themselves on it

or use the saw to just cut a triangle about where the panic bar would be and reach your hand in and pull it.
-
ONEEYEDMIC I think that was what Oswego was trying to do but I don't see how that would work.
-
That method only works with outward swinging doors that have the panic bar on the other side, Just a note. Basically you are forcing the halligan in to be able to pull the inside bar.

Nice website thanks for the link. Does anyone know why they call them appliances over there? Just something that I never understood.
