I like this idea a lot.. Whenever I am at the firehouse doing rig checks or whatever I like to have the doors open when we are around. It is great PR people stop in pretty frequently. Usually for directions, but they are always grateful.

Maybe the word retirement should be interchanged with LOSAP. Both are common in NYS in Volunteer agencies.

My feeling is if someone calls you go and do all you can. Of course if there is an actual emergency those resources shouldnt be tied up.

I go to college in NH and around here a good amount of people carry openly. I believe that there is no permit required for open- carry up here. I also think it does make a difference. I remember reading about a bank robbery where the robber thought twice when he saw two patrons who were carrying.

I personally love xbox but I've had playstations before.... It really is a toss up between the two. PS3 does do blue ray which xbox doesn't but thats not a priority for me. I do love the Netflix streaming on my xbox.

I don't really see how you can enforce that in this age of social media. Especially with the censorship or "big brother" claims that would be made. So if I wanted to "tweet" I'm at the firehouse I should call the department's lawyer?
