I don't know where you are making the connection between these two different topics? As I recall the counties TRT was recently acknowledged at the last meeting of the Westchester County Association of Fire Chiefs for rescues in Ossining, Croton and upstate during the flooding... Couldn't the same argument be made about smaller volunteer FD run teams such as Yorktown's Swift Water Rescue team?

Just on the update.... The Westchester Technical Rescue Swift water team returned today. They operated in the hard hit Broome and Tioga counties... Also just a note FDNY was also operating

Extrication tools also have valuable uses besides mvas where the rig might not be able to go... Having a good portable set is definitely a great idea. Plus that guy Murphy is always around and on board systems can fail

The ER bay there is a mess... I usually nose in just like that... The only problem with that is getting out!!

The closest most of them have been to Lincolndale firehouse is hiding in the woods from the troopers. I think that most of you have a distorted view of most of the kids there... It isnt a summer camp for poor kids its a correctional facility. Somers FD has state police dispatched with us for every call there after issues when responding to alarms there including yelling cursing and fighting. While I am sure there are some "good kids" there the bad apples cast a big shadow...

This is all a little crazy... If I check the caucasion box and someone else checks the hispanic or African American box they can be hired before me? Based on the need for diversity?
