One thing I would really like to see is the move toward the national Pro Board curriculum

Personally I think FF1, 2 and survival is a great start.... I like the way the county has these classes set up

I use the Pro-tech gloves and love them... My dept issues the Dragon gloves but they seem to wear out and rip quick so now we are buying a batch of the pro-tech gloves to try out. I definitely recommend them to anyone.

It does come down to training.. Officers and senior members need to give the "younger" guys some direction when PASS alarms are going off. We should be trained that if we hear a PASS alarm someone is in trouble....

Not just C and O.. They are usually toned out when ever mutual aid or outside resources are requested.

A majority of your members dont have first aid or CPR? That is astonishing to me. I am not saying every firefighter should be an EMT but they should atleast have some basic training that every boy scout and most sports coaches are required to have. What if your at an auto alarm and one of your members has a massive heart attack and goes into cardiac arrest? Wait for the ambulance? This is scary when that is a very real scenario around the country in the Fire Service. Cardiac Related LODD deaths have been one of the top causes of death for Firefighters. A CPR class takes what 4 hours but it can save someones life including one of your brothers God forbid!!
