Yes sending a vehicle (Car) with added members is an excellent idea. I did not monitor if an Engine from Hartsdale responded , therefore I did not want to assume. Even when HFD was released I only heard Car 2173. Side Note : Sounded like EFD had there hands full , Good job , stay safe. If anyone can confirm the correct address I would like to update it on the IA. Thanks

This fire rates on a national level as a grim reminder to make Fire Prevention a top priority for the public. Codes and other laws are based on studies from incidents like this one. More info to follow.

I'm not sure ....but using the trunk radio to keep "members hands on" is a good idea. If you save it for a rainy day or the biggie a person may not be familar with its operation. I think testing on it is a good idea. As far as going full operation (for FFD)- that could happen. However, more UHF portables would be needed and other details being ironed out. This may sound negative , but last week during M/A relocates and apparatus sent to the scene of a working fire it was obvious that some apparatus riders never used the trunk radio > and needed more training on it. This must have been frustrating for dispatchers at 60 Control. Having to repeat themselves over and over switch to Fire XX on the trunk radio ! It was clear the listener was thinking "uh ,,I never used that radio" "How do I switch?" " I'll press the "on" button ,, the orange one ! *Sorry but that is a fact. I think the system is working out well. What does everybody else think ? Does the system exceed your expectations? Maybe we should set up a EMTBravo poll . Rate the Trunk system in Westchester County.
