Anyone even slightly interested in a Civil Service job should take this test. You never know ! I remember getting that advice ..... take tests , take tests even if they are practice. It is a good experience and could be helpful on future tests. Sign up soon.

Photo By N.Jowitt - Permission for EMTBravo. More to follow..... Initial interior attack was a 2-1/2 line from Cataract Hose Engine 97 - heavy fire in the walls , occupants stated they heard poping and cracking noise all morning in the floors and walls , later smelled smoke. Called Fire Department at that time.

The Water Jel blanket was first marketed in Westchester County NY back in the late 1970's early 1980. Trilling Resourses Inc was from East Hartsdale Ave, Hartsdale NY. The television show "That's Incredible" seen on channel 7 ABC filmed a demonstration of the excellent product with The Fairview Fire Dept. (Greenburgh). Different sizes are now available and have assisted many with even minor burns. Just wondering if any forum members have used the blanket or can share local stories about it. Thank you for your replies so far ! It is interesting to me because the Water Jel is a "quick - ready to go" treatment for burns but leaves Medics & EMTs with the NYS protocol question. As we know, protocol must be followed !Burn Centers are still going to have victims show up with Water Jel applied. Could the state recognize a product like this and add it to the list of treatments ? or as ALSfirefighter mentioned , does this lead to possible additional contaminants in the burn site ? Everyone I've spoken to repeats RWC130's post - they are common in First Aid kits, minor burns - thats all you need.

Thanks Barry. NYS Protocol IX A & B indicate treatment. I am in favor of the Water Jel Product as it will stop the burning process. Thanks again and best of luck with Engine 25.

Great looking rig. Looks like a well thought out apparatus. Excellent photos - thanks x635. Barry- I noticed the water jel blanket in a compartment (photo 18) . Good to see this product ready to aid a burn victim. Any brothers from NRFD have stories with using a Water Jel ? Some EMT's have a concern that it is not following NYS protocol. I will start a new thread on this topic. Link to Water Jel discussion http://www.emtbravo.net/index.php?showtopic=33007

In Memory Of Patrolman James W.Carozza - Member of the Town Of Greenburgh Police Department - Line of Duty Death July 20, 1984. I remember that hot July night 25 years ago. My Brother responded to the accident. When he got home he told me that a police officer was trapped inside car 66 . It was a terrible incident reminding all of us the dangers faced by law enforcement officers. History section of Greenburgh website:
