  1. NYPD will process everyone on a given list that scored 70 or higher starting at the top of the list and working down until that list is exhausted.
  2. Those resources haven't been mentioned because that's not what the thread is about. If you have police, DOT, and the fire department there you'll be positioning where the scene commander tells you to; we're talking about what to do if you're alone. Flares are nice when you have time to set them up and enough of them in the rig to make a difference. I will also say that I've personally witnessed people driving through flare lines and into a scene at speed because "they live right down that road."
  3. The flycar and especially the ambulance in my opinion should only stop in front of the accident whether they're first on scene or not. The only thing that will provide you effective physical protection from passing traffic is a 25-ton piece of fire apparatus. If one of these fools racing their luxury SUV down the Saw Mill rams the back of 37M1 the medic will have two trucks flying at them instead of one. That's all assuming they aren't hit while grabbing their bag out of the back hatch.
  4. Ossining VAC has paid staff.
  5. TransCare runs non-911 buses out of Mount Vernon/Bronx, Manhattan (TCC), and 14th street in Brooklyn with precious little time for lunch at a generous $11/hr.
  6. I got called out from the Mount Vernon base to a nursing home in the Bronx where they informed us that our patient may have had a stroke sometime during the previous shift (it was 01:30). Of course since those nurses had been gone for hours they didn't really know how long he might have been having it or even what his baseline was.
  7. Great photos as usual. I actually passed L59 heading down I-81 this afternoon and wondered what the heck they were doing in Central New York, now I know haha.
  8. Awesome photos. It's funny that with tens of millions of dollars in new equipment kicking around they still keep that 90's Suburban in service.
  9. You are correct, 146 is a 1993 Pierce. I'm going to miss the open cab this summer; I hope she finds a good home.
