  1. Inland tank barge very similar to the trailer.
  2. Looks like a training unit for a tank barge just smaller and portable. I say its a training unit because the gauge sticks are cut out so you can see how the balls float up for the sight sticks, and large diameter pipe at the end of the trailer is open. This is also interesting because thats the same setup for the cargo and vapor system as an inland tank barge not necessarily the same as the offshore tank barges that operate in NY harbor but very similar in ways.
  3. Any pics?
  4. SeniorCare EMS But they only do true 911 out of Brooklyn Hospital but have bases in the Bronx and Brooklyn and run ALS and BLS. Very per diem friendly and always hiring. PM me for me details.
  5. Look at SeniorCare EMS. Their hiring. They work all over the tri-state doing transports and emergency calls. Yeah they mainly transport older people but great experience, good company great people. PM if you want more info.
  6. The show is disgusting. If you go to the discovery site and watch the videos click on the "Time for a Raise" this is a horrible picture of the towing industry. I would be embarrassed if I was a tow truck operator.
  7. Its true you don't see people like city councilmen and such as volunteers but im a vol in Rye and I know of some high level corporate positions and attorney's and such that are standing there next to me in there mercedes with a blue light or packing hose with me doing the same thing i do, it doesn't matter who you are fire doesn't care but just to go a and help out is all it takes. I was also involved in the creation of the video since my buddy and I do stuff like that for RyeTV.
  8. Everyone needs to shut up and just donate something. Everyday for the last 5 years of my life I have come on this site and viewed the topics and photos and posted in some of the topics. Just now I donated, I've never donated to this site before. Yeah i've looked at this everyday and took for granted some of the stuff on the site. But, everyone can afford $5 $10 Something to a site that has affected everyone. If your a member of EMTBravo you view this site at least once if not MORE during the day, give back to a site that has done so much for you. Do it. Thank you Seth, you defiantly changed my life and EMTBravo influenced me to become an EMT and FF today. Thank you.
  9. Very interesting that the city code refers to the person comitting official misconduct as a HE and not in a general sense. Maybe she'll be aquited since she is technically by code terms a "he" The entire situation is sad and gives every EMT a black eye.
  10. Personally i just keep a separate BLS bag in my jeep all the time. And all the time I have had my bag in the back of my Jeep I have never needed O2 just driving around in my POV and everything I do. Very rarely will you need a supply of O2 on your POV. Thats just me.
  11. Sooo my chief and my fire truck can have all the colors they want facing backwards to protect themselves but i can only have what color and how many lights facing backwards on my POV so i don't get hit putting my gear on at a scene??? (NOT a highway scene where as my dept you do not respond to highway calls in your POV. The scene I refer to is you a-typical town road or busy street or side street where there is still traffic going at if not OVER 30mph) Hmm.
  12. The username in question that started the whole thing is 17, thats what his profile on there says... I'm not surprised. RIP Captain Vince Iaccino
  13. Well... I go to SUNY Maritime and the Chief Hospital Corpsman. EVERYONE in the school who is in the regiment and studying to become a USCG licensed Third Mate or Third Engineer, goes through both MSC Basic Shipboard Firefighting and MSC Advanced Shipboard firefighting. I've gone through both and currently in FF1, and I can say the on-land and at-sea firefighting are like two fraternal twins. On a ship or small vessel like a tug or a powerboat you need to also understand the concept of ship stability, all the water you pump to put on the fire has to go somewhere and thus adds weight. Where as on land, too much water is never an issue. If a room is about to flashover on-land you can escape out a window wheres at sea escaping from the fire is putting your lifeboats over the side and waving the ship goodbye. In my department you need to be approved by the chief, FF1, USCG Safe Boating certificate, and just have basic seamanship skills, (common sense) Soo i hope that helps. If anyone has any more questions about Military Sealift Command fire training or shipboard stuff in general just ask or pm, i go to college to learn how to put out fires on ships.
  14. What are the textbook ConED procedures for putting out an electrical fire underground. Like the situation in Rye earlier the manhole was fully flooded and overflowing then stopped but the fire grew back up. Then flooded a second time before the fire extinguished itself. Just looking for some insight into ConED's point of view.
  15. I like just going to EMTBravo.com because It's quick it's easy and I can always see whats recent and whats new and up to date. Maybe just a little facelift is all it needs.
  16. Does anyone have recordings of Westchester County tone-outs? Specifically City of Rye's tone out.
  17. I would usually keep a multi-tool at all times in my locker. I was on stage crew in high school and it was not un-common for us to use them after school setting up the stage and having them on us. I'm an eagle scout and this case is absolutely ridiculous! I know now-a-days I would be in deep trouble if I had a multi-tool in my locker or better yet on me.
  18. Hmmm. Interesting... Seems like a good idea, but true i feel it will stress a little more on PCFD and the PD. I also believe it will be nice to see the developer finally do something with the property I remember back when it was actually a hospital. Very good topic, is there any press release or news articles on this yet.
  19. Bring back THIRD WATCH lol just my 2 cents...
  20. Every town but Rye oh well, I'll have to record 60 Control sometime.
  21. Red sky at sailors delight, red sky in morning sailor takes warning....
  22. I hope the judge in light of what has happened in the past throws the book at this guy!
  23. I LOVED Oscar's! Every summer me and friends would go up there and grab some of the best steaks ever! RIP Oscar's
