  5. Dont know the name of the department (I think down in Maryland somewhere) that had a whole row of train horns along the roof of a brand new engine or a rescue and the first time they used them it vibrated that truck so much that all the windows shattered. This is an unconfirmed story, but I think that if you went overboard with too many train horns that the vibration could do that.
  6. I have been saying for a long time! Just legalize prostitution and there will be no problem. Watch "Cathouse" on HBO and you will see how it is!

  12. My agency is going to sponsor an 8 Hour Tactical EMS Awareness Seminar, which will be held at our HQ. We are looking at a tentative date of Sunday 11/4/2007 0900-1700 hours. Once I have the final confirmation on the date, I will post more information the course including how much it will cost to attend. The fee for the course will include lunch that will be provided by us. This course is open to all ALS & BLS providers. Once I determine the maximum amount of people we can hold in our HQ, I will then post how many spots there will be for the class. The course will be given by the New State Tactical EMS Association. More information about NYTEMSA is available at www.nytemsa.org New York Tactical EMS, Inc. is a commercial training company that not affiliated with NY State DOH and are not currently involved in the NYS CIC/CME training program. Our courses are not certification courses and are open to EMT and above. The term "Medic" does not imply that the provider is a Advanced EMT. A "Medic" in this training is considered as "the medical provider on a team". All students will remain in and not exceed their level of State Certification. The "Tactical Medic" Course is not a certification course and is not recognized by the NY State DOH. All course content is acquired from Special Operations Military and other National TEMS Providers who practice in States that recognize Tactical EMS.

  16. Speaking of Regional Tactical Teams, The Village of Monroe, Village of Harriman and Town of Woodbury merged their teams together sometime within the past year and a half or so. So now it is....The Monroe Woodbury Harriman REACT Team
  17. I like the lineup of all of the older style NYSP cars. I remember seeing the mustangs on our local highways. I used to see the Camaro around my area, but it has been a long time now since it has been around. I am waiting to see some kind of newer "Pursuit Car" come into the picture. Yes, we know that the Charger with the Hemi kicks *ss, but someone will come up with a car just for the highways. Ford Mustange Saleen or Corvette would be two good choices.
  18. At the Police & Security Expo that was held down in DC a few months ago, I saw the 5 4forward voice activated system. One of the young ladies was doing a demo with the system. It works with any voice and is very safe because it allows you to focus on the road instead of your radio, lights, siren and laptop. You can run warrant checks and run plates etc. Comes in very handy if you are in a pursuit...............when you are doing MACH 1, you do not have even a second to look at your radio to change the channel if you need to talk to an agency that is also involved in a pursuit. A few PDs from Rockland County are getting this system for their cars. I think it will catch on in the PD world, especially as the price comes down.
  19. 3 of me!
  20. Just a question...is Diaz covering his medical expenses under workers comp? By no means am I saying the workers comp is enough to live off of, I was just thinking about what kind of coverage they have for him.
  21. The criminals are going to do what they need to do regardless of a law! Were all of the 9/11 terrorists abiding by the law? You can compare this to gun control.................the criminals are going to get guns even if the law says they need to get a permit a gun.
  22. There was a guy who was an Ex-Marine whos name was Sergeant and he was a Sgt in the Marines..................Sergeant Sergeant!
  23. LOL! There is a Doctor Hyman around where I live! However, some people pronounce it "Hey men" even though it is "Hi men". I know that this is not Doctor related, but I had to share it. At my first dispatching job working for a PD, we had a lady who's last name was Dick. It was mandatory at our job to state our name on the telephone after stating our agency name! LOL! "***** Police, Dispatcher Dick" This is 100% true! NO BS!
  24. I will be enroute that starting at 1300. Should take me 3 hours.
