I checked out the spring valley web site it is really a unique rig with the single axle in the rear, it kind of looks like a lull attached to a firetruck . The bucket folds over itself for storage on the roof. But you just said the bucket is removable also, this thing just keeps getting better Iv'e never seen one anywhere. Are there controls at the bucket and can it flow water with the bucket on?

Im not a big fan of the METS either...

It looked like the tree might have been in the way of the stick going any higher.

Thanks. Any info on what part of the house the fire started and how the fire spread through the roof ( ballon type, stairwell ) . And are there any more pic's . Also what is greenburg civil defence.

Do you have a rundown of who was there with what. One post said scarsdale was the fast company, I see ladder 4 from greenville. And also was there any ladder pipes used from any other pic's we didn't get to see.
-
No kidding, thanks.

I am an engine guy, so I will agree totally for the fun of it all. But I hope Mike Wilbur doesn't see this. He has a big opinion about ladder work vs engine work.

Thanks for the info. You keep mentioning paramedic, is this only for medics ( als ) type fly cars and rigs?
-
Its good to see agencies reaching out for help and getting it, the workers probably love it . If the get the pay scale of con ed it is probably more than they are used to, plus its mostly O.T.

Could you tell me the difference between what the normal E.M.S. rig has now and the 12 lead, why will it be better? ( how many leads do you use now ) I know nothing about E.M.S. and can prove it..

Ladder 4 looked like it was in place before the fire came through the roof, then it seems to be gone. Did it relocate to another side of the house somehow or did it stow the ladder and retract the outriggers? Hard to tell from the pic's.

The bucket looks to be the size of a shopping cart, with two guys and a saw in it, there is no room for a rescue to be made. Im told it is really strong by a local fire buff but it looks very odd ?

Looks like a good job by all. What kind of rig is the spring valley tower.

If it has the particulate in it from the air in the city, the lawyers or the city would be interested in it. Either way sounds like someome is trying to get something out of so many people's misfortune. What else is new..

Congrats, dont forget about a turnout coat for our favorite camera man. you know who.

Also I have seen where room or apt #'s are on the bottom of a door in an apt building or health care building etc. this should be an enforced code also.

I am having the same problem.

Good luck with it, we are in the middle of spec's now for our new one.

This was one of a couple buildings on the property. It was the groundskeepers house, the first floor had three bedrooms a bathroom and a laundry room. It had an attached garage that would fit about 8 cars that you could only access from the outside. The roof on the house and the garage were both flat. The garage was about 100' long. To add to the 700' lay of 5" it was about 250-300' lay of attack line. I do believe their was a cameraman on scene with a bunch of pics ( tizzle ).

Its a newer one. 100 - 600 are older ones ( half moon bay ) 700 - up is Discovery cove.
-
Good luck, hope it all turns out how it should have from the beginning.
-
Very impressive 60 - must have been rough in their with so much going on.

Big bummer about the wires creating no access for the truck and the extra hose line stretch, but the fire went very well from inside and looked good when I came out to see the portable ladders up and the vent holes in the roof couldn't have been in a better spot . Thanks to the coverage rigs and our own E-120 to handle the second job.

When multiple agencies are involved their should be unified command ( can you use a motorcycle as a command post ? ) or at least a predetermined incident plan, maybe an SOG agreed upon by the two agencies. Something besides handcuffs.

Quit it , City officials are upset because the money could have been used on a weekend bender with hookers. All government agencies misappropriate money and this is going to honor two of Buffalo's bravest, its a slap in the face that this wasn't just paid then a new policy or agreement drawn up between the city and the union. shame on the city.
