  1. I haven't seen the sample pics yet, but hopefully they will get the detail right. The president of our company (Washington Engine TL78)is supposed to be handling the interface between us and code 3.
  2. look for it in the september 2006 time frame.
  3. both firehouses should be about 6200 sq. ft. , which is about 2.5 times larger than our current houses (current 78 and torn down 77 house). although my new truck (TL78) is almost twice as large as our old ENG78.

  5. Yep. Went into service 12/29/05 12:02pm.
  6. At 1202 on 12/29/05 Washington Engine Co. 2 of Tarrytown placed into service the department's newest apparatus, Tower Ladder 78. Engine 78 was retired after 25 years of venerable service to the citizens of Tarrytown. http://www.geocities.com/tl78zoo/
  7. There is also a hand held spotlight mounted at the officer's position in the cab.
  8. The black instruments on the raised part of the cab roof are remote operated spotlights. They are controled from tethers in the cab.
  9. The village is still currently going ahead with plans for building a new house on 119 for Washington Engine. Although the politicians haven't exactly been clamoring to get it built in any hurry over the past few years. Hopefully it will happen sooner than later and the arrival of TL78 has motivated them to get something done in an expiditious manner. The company will retain it name for business purposes (Washington Engine, Co. 2 inc.). And yes, the truck can fit on all the streets in Tarrytown that any of the other apparatus currently have the capability to (some tight squeezes but it fits).
  10. Tarrytown TL78 - Blue & Silver with chrome wheels... 2005 ALF 100' Mid-Mount http://www.geocities.com/tl78zoo/111_1160_b.JPG
  11. yes - second ladder in the south end, not a second engine.
  12. in 1998 my comapny started designing a pumper to replace our current engine 78. in late 1999 the town had a study done by an insurance carrier which suggested relocating the firehouses in town and having a second engine in the south end of town. in 2000 we scrapped our engine design and began building what we have now, tower ladder 78.
  13. TL78 will be Tarrytown's second ladder company. Conqueror H&L (Truck 37) has been around for well over 100 years. There will be plenty of shirts for sale at the wetdown.
  14. The wetdown for Tarrytown's Tower Ladder 78 will be held at Pierson Park in Tarrytown on Saturday November 19th from 1pm-5pm. You are more than welcome to join us and take pictures then. Our company is still busy training to get the ladder in service, so finding time to schedule promotional activities up this point has been difficult.
  15. The new tower ladder 78 is blue and silver. It is 100' mid-mount, and does carry ~350 gallons of water. It will be temporarily housed in the south end of Tarrytown. It will be permantly be housed in the firehouse to be built on 119, with or without another company depending on what the politicians decide.
