Thanks, looking forward to the delivery also. Just like was said, we wanted to keep the truck as small as possible. We have a 1000 gal. pumper already, tried to mirror the engine it is replacing. Will have a ton more space on this one with high side compartments on both sides and a 8 man cab.

Thought it'd be a good idea to start a discussion about what departments have bought the new Chevy Caprices.
I have seen several in lots of different departments. Only got the chance to get one photo of it, which is the one below.
Does anyone have any photos of them? Would like to see all the different paint schemes/set ups on them.
I'll start off... (Taken at the Freedom Tower, couldn't get any closer due to security zones.

Correct, to allow a full trial of the vehicle to test it's response capability.
They are very effective, will explain a little further down.
Correct with what the pod carries, there is more than one of these (around 3). Our average response time is 90 seconds, a pod response time is about 2 mins due to having to unload the pod it was carrying and load the needed pod. There pretty quick still! Our frontline engines carry enough hose for a second alarm.
Thanks! More to come.
It's certainly an interesting place. More pictures from a buffing trip today will be put up soon. Hopefully I have answered you questions and feel free to keep asking!

Sig Sauer is a Swiss and German company founded as a wagon maker in 1853 (go figure). The company was smart enough in the 1980s to invest big bucks in the U.S. to manufacture and sell all kinds of arms. See more at http://www.sigsauer.com/AboutUs/History.aspx

Medic411 liked a post in a topic by everybodygoes in FDNY's New Helmet Policy
It is a joke. First off the only thing our helmets do besides protect from heat is to attempt to prevent penetrating injuries from objects. Our helmets contain very little to reduce the loads from impacts. Motorcycle helmets have a 5 year rating because the helmet contains foam that is designed to slow your head down when involved in a crash to prevent your brain from being shocked from the sudden stop. Foam breaks down over time because of its chemical structure. This whole thing is complete BS, show me a guy with a head injury and I will show a kinesiologist who can show that the helmet did nothing to prevent it, because practically all of our head injuries are to the spine from the load.

Medic411 liked a post in a topic by IzzyEng4 in Training? NOT! What on earth were they thinking?
I recently came across another "fine" video on another site of a training session gone bad (for lack of better terms I really want to use). Unfortunately it is of a department that is in the coverage area of this site.
Just like the title says, what were you thinking?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
As a certified instructor you all should be givin' a swift kick on the backside, this was not funny, this could have been even potentially worse outcome. And why even post it?????
I don't care if I get reprimanded or suspended from the site for posting this. Everyone involved should be suspended by their officer / chief. Morons!!!!!
Obviously no one believes in safety anymore.
(Seth and mods, if you take this down, please me know by a PM. Thank you.)
